After searching for a few weeks, we found a pup at One of a Kind that we adopted. While the front desk seemed a little discombobulated, they were very busy and looked to be doing the best they could with the staff they had available and the number of customers needing attention. We had two young ladies helping us with introductions to make sure our two older dogs would not harm the pup. So far it has been about a week and we’re very happy with the new fur kid and my older dogs are tolerating the puppy pretty well too. I’d recommend taking a look here if you are looking for a new cat or dog to add to your family. Lots of deserving pets here looking for a new home. I’d also recommend shopping here for any of your pet needs since all of the profits are sent back into the shelter animals. Just be patient with the short handed staff.

One of a Kind is such a great organization. Not only do they take in animals from other shelters who are at risk of being put down but they also have a great retail area with high quality food, toys and grooming supplies. Although it’s not the cheapest, we like to shop here knowing it’s a local organization that not only covers our needs but also carries out a mission we believe in. Plus, if you’re ever feeling low, you can hang out with the kitties in the cat room!

My sister, myself, and my daughter went here to look into adopting a dog. When we came in, the staff did not greet us or even ask if they could help. My daughter asked a question to one of the staff and she completely ignored her. The staff were extremely rude to us, and I did not appreciate it at all. A family was in a room with a dog that my daughter wanted to see. The family who had small children were alone in the room with the dog with no leash or staff members. Once the family was done, and we let them know we wanted to see the dog, 2 staff members went inside with us, kept the dog on the leash, and talked to the dog the whole time instead of us. How the staff treated us, turned me off to even adopting a dog from here. Plus, why is it $ 250-​$ 300 to adopt a RESCUE pet. I can buy a puppy for the same price or $ 50 more at Pets Pajamas and get treated 10x better there!
