Ordered wings on wing night but were out at 6:30 pm. Ordered wine on menu but were out. Was charged for soup nevered ordered. Called the next day to take off charge for soup. They said that they would, but three weeks later they never did it. Cmomonsider going somewhere else.

Came here for a date night and we were a little hesitant to go in. It really does look like a house, but we gave it a shot. Our waitress was great, knew the menu well and we never had to wait or ask for more water. We got pot stickers for our appetizer and they were prepared perfectly! He got steak and was very satisfied, I decided to try to Ahi Tuna. Normally when I order Ahi Tuna at a restaurant, it is very over priced and over cooked. Plus there are usually only a few slices. I asked our waitress how they prepared it, she informed us that she used to work in a sushi restaurant and she was confident they made it right at Clearview Inn. And she was right. It was cooked to perfection and there was so much I couldn’t finish it all, I ended up taking some home(which never happens when I order this dish.) We were incredibly satisfied with our food and service, although I think some redecorating is in order. It was very dated and not incredibly inviting, as an expensive steakhouse should be. But it wasn’t bad enough to stop us from having a great night!

I was impressed by the diversity in the menu! A lot of different app choices & entrée’s! Everything from calamari to venison then chicken sandwiches to Delmonico and filets! Props to our waitress too — she was really good and had good suggestions. I ordered the special — half rack of ribs that came with corn and fries. The ribs were Meaty and the BBQ was good — French fries were also very crispy and good! My sister got the steak sandwich(lunch portion is sliced, dinner is uncut and placed right on the bun) she really liked hers! My only complaint was the tap water is well water so order the Peligrino! We both agreed we would go back to try it again!

First time visiting as I was traveling through town on business solo. I was a little reluctant based on some of the posted reviews but thought is give it a shot. Big mistake. Took over 8 minutes for anyone to even approach me after I was seated. Another 4 minutes to get a drink. All I wanted was a quick and decent meal and I’d be on my way. Waitress claimed they were short for the night but I only saw 7 tables occupied. Most folks were at the bar. Place was out of filet and baked potatoes. For a chophouse. I knew at this point I should have left but I drove over 9 miles from the hotel and was thus committed. Settled for the delmonico and it tasted like absolutely nothing. Trying to say something nice — the bottled beer was cold though slow to arrive. Overall– this place is trying to be something it isn’t. Adding linen to the tables, dimming the lights and probably raising prices 25% doesn’t make this a fine dining establishment. Maybe the bar food here is good but like everything else here it is likely overpriced. Best to steer clear of this place lest you be disappointed like me.

Decided to go to Clearview after a day of hiking. The décor is right in between an upscale Chop House and something a little rural. Our hostess was very nice as well as our server, Priscella. Friday and Saturday there is a Herb Crusted Prime Rib special and my husband and I ordered that. I had a salad with mine. The house made white french is very delicious and creamy. My husband had the mushroom bisque. He really liked it. I took a sip and discovered why. The flavors in the soup complimented the mushrooms well. The prime rib was delicious. We did not have the horseradish that came with it. The au juis on the plate was nice and the flavors of the herbs did not overpower the meat. They were cooked perfectly. My husband even asked for between med-rare and med and received it! Next time I am in the area, I will definitely go back.

The prices here were maybe 20% above what seemed reasonable to me. As I perused the menu I noted that the steak sandwich, at $ 17 was a full ten bucks less than the filet. Trying to exercise some small modicum of restraint, that’s what I ordered. I was asked how I’d like it done,(medium rare) and they were happy to swap a salad for the fries. I rode the bike, so no booze for me, iced tea. Perhaps the best one I’ve had in recollection, Honest to G#d full-brewed tea, not the caramel colored water served most places. Kudos on that one Mr Inn! The lady got a filet,(she apparently didn’t share my fiscal inclinations), with mashed potatoes and salad, lady junior got a delmonico and baked potato and salad. The salads were nice. Ice cold fresh mixed greens cukes tomatoes onion croutons and while they had no light dressings they did have oil and vinegar, so that worked for me. The meal portions were immense! The mashed potatoes were served in a huge ramekin on the side and there were easily enough for two and maybe three people. The filet was fine,(I got a taste!) A somewhat overcooked medium-rare, but the filet is a very forgiving cut, so it was somewhat of a non-issue, I didn’t try the mashed, but the lady seemed to enjoy them. Lady junior’s delmonico was avidly received and her baked potato was the size of my forearm! Large enough that had I been served the same spud, I would have required at least three and probably four of the comparatively diminutive sour cream cups that accompanied the potato. But lady junior seemed satisfied,(it might have been the dirty martinis plying her compatibility!)
That just leaves my steak sandwich. It was open-faced, served on Texas toast, smothered in sauteed onions and peppers, …so far terrific. I chose to knife and fork this bad boy, and it was definitely the right choice. It was a sirloin, yeah a cheaper cut, bound to be a bit chewy, but there are ways to tenderize this cut, just get one at a national chain,(e.g. Outback or Longhorn). Happily it was served with Crocodile Dundee’s personal knife. Yet the knife was inadequate to the task. Despite the size, blade-sharpness and serrations I must have spent a full five minutes just trying to cut the first bite! There were times when trying to trim the gristle/fat rimming the cut that I just had to take a break to gather myself to continue the assault. A number of bites had to be deftly returned to the fork and flung into the bushes around the patio as they just did not succumb to continued chewing regardless the length of time invested. The Clearview Inn gets a lifetime achievement award here for absolutely the toughest, chewiest, most inedible cut of meat I have EVER been served in ANY restaurant in ANY country or State! And I’ve eaten my own cooking!!! It was shift change at the Clearview, so no inquiry was made by either waitress as to the suitability of our entrees. Whether this was done of knowing the likely reply, or just that inquiry falling through the cracks, who knows? To add to the evening, there is, apparently a resident drunk who invites himself to whatever table his wobbly feet ferret him, where he insinuates himself into conversation, and one’s evening etc whether welcomed or not. It was fairly obvious from the reactions of the waitresses that he engages in these behaviors regularly. Why he isn’t taken aside by management and his behavior corralled is beyond my understanding. Lucky us, he chose our table. The price I pay for having two attractive ladies at the table! There were some amusing moments, like the time he rose and polished off his Makers Mark with a backwards tilt of his head and momentarily lost equilibrium! Teetering for what seemed like 30 seconds between upright and floored. Unfortunately he found his balance and recovered. The lady’s entrees were OK, mine bordered on totally inedible, service was great, portions were enormous, and the unwanted company was obnoxious.

This«little blue house» is deceiving. It is just around the corner from our house, and casual looking from the outside. We expected something similar to Whitey’s and were pretty shocked that it was actually a nice steak place. Unfortunately, we were interested in something like burgers at the time we visited. Ahhh… live and learn. We had a nice dinner. I had pork chops and the husband had steak. We will definitely be going back and recommending Clearview. They have added a nice patio and it is pretty full almost daily during warm weather.

Went on a Thursday. Not crowded at all so no need for Rez. Service was good, my husband got the scallops. He said the menu is way too overpriced. So wasn’t 28.00 worth. I had a veggie burger and fries… Yum. Well worth the price. And the fries are to die for… So will go back… But will be getting burgers…

When a restaurant has to resort to half-price coupons it’s usually a bad sign-especially if they don’t understand that the purpose of the promotion is to get people to come again and pay full price. Reducing portion sizes by half for everyone-even those without a coupon– will not accomplish that goal. We paid full price for a ½″ thick portion of prime rib(usually ¾″) and a pasta special with a total of 5 tiny salad shrimp in a cream sauce($ 27.00). When I told our server that we were paying full price, she denied that the portions were small due to the coupons. We know better since we are regular customers. I doubt that any of the bargain hunters will be back to pay full price for such minuscule portions and regular customers will have to think twice before chancing being the victim of another coupon promotion. What a shame! On the positive side, the food is very good at this restaurant-just not a good value anymore.

Not what I expected at all. The name, menu items and prices lead you to believe this is a fancier place, but it looks like a house from the outside… and a mid-Ohio bar on the inside. There was no live music while I was there, but the stage is prominent… and there’d be no bad seat in the house as the place is small. I had the Mushroom Bisque, which was decent but not as flavorful as I’d hoped. The half lettuce wedge is a nice option because it fulfills your veg requirement but allows you to try other things too. Finally, I had the Stuffed Pepper appetizer as my main. Spicy pepper presence, good amount of sausage and cheese, but once again, slightly lacking in flavor. Service was mostly hit, but I waited about 15 minutes for my bill. The parking lot is large enough to handle the place if it got crowded(there were about 4 other patrons while I was there). Casual dress is sufficient. The dirty martini I had was almost perfectly smooth(one peeve — the signage on the table said they had Martini specials but my waitress told me that sign was old, and they weren’t doing it anymore. Uhm… how ’bout your throw the piece of paper… on every single table… away then?) After my average experience here, my drive took me by Ken Stewart’s… where the huge parking lot was full to bursting. Hmmmmm

My wife and I had dinner there last Saturday(2÷25÷12). It was the first time either of us had dined there, and we live nearby. We were always intrigued by number of higher end cars parked outside of a somewhat underwhelming building façade. However, when I finally looked up their menu online the prices seemed reasonable, to reasonable +. I called to see if you we needed reservations and it was advised I make them because they have live entertainment on Fridays and Saturdays. We arrived a little early and was offered a couple of seats at a side bar.(for any trial lawyers reading this, it’s not the same so don’t get all giddy!) Keeping in mind that I probably don’t really want to go somewhere that requests/requires me in much more than decent jeans, I was a little concerned about visually standing out.(please refer to my comment on the cars.) To my pleasant surprise I was somewhere mid-range on my attire. At the appointed time we we taken to our seats, which were somewhat out of view of the band. Actually, my wife had the one seat with a view. Their floor plan is an L-shape, and we sat right at the angle. Unfortunately, my wife and I had similar tastes that night and we both had the filet mignon. That was probably a good thing, because had she tried to get any of my steak someone would have gotten hurt(probably me, too.!-) It was cooked to perfection and very, very flavorful. The service was also good, but a little slow. And, I attribute that to the fact that it was a new band that piqued the interest of the regulars, and the band had a sizable contingent of groupies(there’s just something about having middle aged groupies!) The band was billed as classical rock/blues and was actually pretty good. And while not sitting in the front few rows of tables(that’s where the groupies were!), the volume was not overwhelming. Overall, we easily cleared the $ 100 mark, but almost half was due to adult beverages. And, at least half of that was because we had gotten there early, and then stayed a while after we finished eating. And oh by the way, we skipped appetizers, but did share a dessert. Conclusion: Not only will we be going back, but I would recommend this place as a great alternative to the chains, and many of the higher priced establishments. Bön appetite! Side Note: A couple of reviews mentioned no patio, but there appeared to be a small patio directly in front of the place.

My wife and I have been eating there for close to 8 years now. Since the reopen, it has went steadily down hill. We go less and less and now after Friday’s visit, we are done going there for ever. The food is too expensive for it’s quality. Three times in a row I’ve ordered well done meat, three times in a row it comes not just undercooked, but literally bloody in the middle. If you put food out like that, you don’t care. It will catch up to them. On the bright side, I met Larry Nance there!!!

Great food and atmosphere. If they only had an outdoor patio I would give it 5 stars. They have cool live bands too on the weekends.

Wow, what a great meal! My husband and I went here for a try… AMAZING! He had steak and I had fish, both were just perfect. The atmosphere was classy casual and the music was just the right touch to set the mood on a beautiful spring evening. Our service was very pleasant and we were both very happy here, we will be back!

This is a great family owed spot with good food, good drinks, and well-chosen live music. It’s very casual, so if you want fancy, this is not for you… but if you want a friendly staff and crowd and great food at reasonable prices, this is a real find. Good job to Jerry and Lisa for making the Clearview Inn such a winner.

Went because of recommendations from co-workers. Mmmm steak done right. Hubby and I shared a delmonico(its not as bad for you if you only eat half, right?). Good char n’ crust, slightly salty, red and slightly warm center, juicy. A good thing is a hard thing to find at a fair price. Especially if you dont want to feel all formal in a stuffy restaurant. This place serves up a good one that wont kill your wallet and everyone was very nice and accomodating. Kinda reminds me of my favorite steak place, Kennedy’s Cove in Clarence NY. Side dishes are yummy too. We will definitely go back.

Great personalized service. We were early to our reservation. The hostess found us seats at the bar til our table was ready. Bar was nice enough we gave up our table. Great meal. Venison sausage app, prime rib generous, filet juicy and cooked spot on, corn and mushroom sides great. Service excellent. Peach cobbler very good. Rather eat here than Ken Stewart’s. Different environment totally. Judging from the loud and packed atmosphere we were not alone. Addendum: As we were finishing our meal the band scheduled for the night finished setting up and started to play. The Waterband. Local Cleveland fare. Very entertaining. Had a guest with them named«Black Diamond». Apparently only Black Neil Diamond Tribute singer in the nation. Performs normally in Vegas. What a hoot!!! When Black Diamond finished a rousing 3 song set the Waterband performed and they are definitely worth your time. Great and unexpected experience. Kudos Clearview Inn.

At the eighteenth hour of the day, we figured we could just waltz into Clearview, sit down, have a drink, grab a steak. No way. The place was packed. We waited, made it into the little six-table side room and were glad we were patient. This place has really gelled over the past year. Service is, I guess you could say, «quirky.» You know they haven’t been trained by some corporate DVD during their shake-down tour at a chain restaurant, which can be refreshing or frustrating, depending on whether you can appreciate human idiosyncrasies while dining out.(A waitress, who wasn’t even working our table, stopped by to tell us she’d just run into her old boyfriend, and… Oddly refreshing.) Food still wonderful. This place is just on the verge of five stars now. With the impending demise of the Taverne of Richfield, this may be our local número uno. And again, don’t you even THINK about Ken Stewart’s down the lane.
