Akron Auto Polish

Although my experience with Akron Auto Polish was a negative one last year, Ryan, the owner reached out to me on Unilocal and extended an offer to correct the issue and try to make it right. I don’t live in Akron anymore, but if I were still nearby, I would take him up on the offer. Mistakes happen, so while they can’t all be avoided, its nice to have an owner try to make it right.

I drive a car for a living as a sales professional, and it needs to be nice. I frequently haul VIP’s from our company and others from place to place. Years ago, I found a great place that did hand washes in Detroit, and was always looking for the same here in Akron. Look no further than Akron Auto Polish.
I discovered them probably 4 years or so ago. Ryan, the owner is one of those small business owners that just really cares about what he does. He has a genuine love for cars. I take my Volkswagens and my escape there. All of my cars are black. They give special care that is needed for this color.
Here is my secret to maximizing your trade-​in value, and to having moments like I did recently when my 72 year old dad said: «How do you keep it looking so new son?» (My escape has 40K hard miles on it)
— Take your car frequently to someplace to just get the dirt off, inside and outside. You can do it yourself, or find a place for probably 10 to 15 bucks.
— Depending on how much you drive, take it over to Akron Auto Polish every few months for an «Express Detail.» This is not a full detail, but it is pretty darn good. It is an absolute bargain for the money, much less expensive than a full detail. They typically spend 45 min to an hour working on your car hand washing inside and out. It looks great when they are done.
— Maybe once a year or so, and when new, just ask Ryan to do what he needs to do to make it look good and protect it. You will spend full detail money on this. They will buff it out, condition the leather, get the winter salt out of the carpet, etc. I ask them to «do what it needs» more often than this, and I have never had them try to take advantage and do excess work.
If you do these things, and put your trust in Ryan and his crew, you will have that feeling you had driving your new car, when it is three to four years old. I continuously receive compliments on my car when folks ride with me, and the credit goes to Akron Auto Polish.
One more note. On several occasions, I have had a minor nit to pick on some detail. They have ALWAYS made it right. If you don’t like the way something was done, tell them.

DONT DO IT! They ruined paint on brand new Denali. Scratched it up bad with buffing pad. Left buffer streaks. Over spray of wax everywhere. Worst I have ever seen. Dealer needs to wet sand and spray new clear to fix. Not a good detail shop on black or dark color vehicles at all.

Got my car in march of 2013. Never had it detailed or waxed.
Was in desperate need of a good detail job. Ryan lived up to his reputation delivering an impeccably detailed car for me.
These guys know how to bring the magic of a new car to an old one. Also they are really good with black cars (my case). They got this really awesome black shine wax which just brings out the color and shine in the car !!

I am incredibly pleased with the work Akron Auto Polish has done on my truck. I cannot believe how clean and brand new it looks, now! Before I brought it in none of my windows besides my driver window could budge. But after I picked it up, all my windows worked!!! Absolutely amazing. Highly recommended.
