Donna and Al Barracato opened Adolph Optical in the spring of 1971 with the idea that people in Akron would enjoy a personalized experience when choosing their new spectacles .They were indeed right and Adolph Optical has grown for 43 years. Tom is the son of Al and Donna. He joined the family business in 1983 after graduating from Bowling Green State University. He is also currently the President of the Ohio Optical Dispensing Board as well as the President of the Opticians Association of America.
