I had a round and round with this place on a repair. I ended up having them fix the car but I would probably not return. It was constant back and forth with them on price. When I threatened to pull the car all of a sudden they wanted to get rational with the pricing… be cautious.

AVOID THIS PLACE. We brought my van there due to it making noises we thought were transmission related. I had just had work done on it back in Atlanta at an amazing AAMCO and decided to have them take a look at it here in Akron. Welp… They SWORE it was the tranny, but turned out they claimed it was the engine, in their words a $ 7k fix. After they tried to pressure me i asked them to put the transmission back in and i’d come pick it up. Forced me to pay their fee even with their notice on the wall saying if they misdiagnose its free. Get my van to another mechanic and guess what? Magically I have no engine oil! I wonder how that happened? Drove my vehicle home with no oil in it thanks to these guys.
So if you want your car to actually work after having it looked at, dont bring it here.

Aamco. More like Scaamco. They charge over $ 800 to check your transmission and if its not the tranny to blame, they are supposed to refund it. The boss and a worker both drove the vehicle, said it was the tranny, charged $ 800+ to pull it apart. Said it wasn’t the transmission, but the engine… still charged me the $ 800+. The kicker… they misdiagnosed the engine problem. Avoid this place.

I am seriously questioning the integrity of this Aamco store. Upon leaving the store on April 8, there was a problem with their printer so I was not able to obtain a receipt. They assured me it would be in the mail the next day. Seven phone calls and over two weeks later I’m still waiting. I was repeatedly told by Dan an employee that it was going into the mail that day. After spending 1,700 dollars, I really would like an itemized receipt for the work completed — if done at all. My last attempt was a message for the owner who has not responded.

I stopped in for a $ 15.99 oil change. Out the door price was $ 18.57. They were friendly but it shouldn’t take 40 minutes for an oil change. I don’t think they topped off fluids either because my windshield wiper light is still on.
