History

Established in 2000.

The business was started by Russell & Janice as Marketplace Wholesale. They sold framed art to interior designers and retail stores across the Carolinas and Georgia.

Tom & Anne purchased the business to help Russell actually retire :) The business is now known as Marketplace Art.

Anne runs the daily operations of the business, and works with professional designers. She has an interior design degree from Anderson University and is also a member of ASID — Carolinas.

A principal investor through BCG. Initial responsibilities included negotiating and funding the business acquisition as well as coordinating the relocation of the production facility. Subsequently involved in business development to stabilize and grow existing clients and add new clients. The business has 5 new active relationships with large architect firms causing sales-​production volume increase of 60%.

The company produces framed art for commercial & residential client projects of our customers, which are professional interior designers. We work together with designers to select prints, mat color and frame that work together with the interiors of their client’s facility or home. The art typically goes into primary residences, secondary homes, assisted living, hospitals, government facilities, professional offices and more. The projects span the southeast US region from our main office & studio which is located in Aiken, South Carolina.
