Apizza di Napoli (pronounced Ah-Beetz) specializes in the authentic aroma, taste, and craft of pizza found on the streets and in the pizzerias in Naples Italy. The only Pizzeria in North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia to obtain VPN (Verace Pizza Napoletana) Certification. We feature fire-kissed pizzas with ingredients straight from Italy — Our name means Pizza of Naples. Apizza is Neapolitan slang (Dialect) for pizza. This is how we knew pizza growing up and all the neapolitan pizzerias of New Haven went by Apizza — Modern Apizza, Sallys Apizza, Pepe’s Apizza, Grand Apizza and we too shall follow in this long standing tradition and my heritage that I am proud of in naming our store Apizza di Napoli.
History
Established in 2012.
When Cliff and Wanda moved to Aiken, South Carolina in 1982 they soon realized that this area had none of the foods that they was accustomed to.
The various Italian delights that they grew up with, Cliff growing up Italian in New Haven CT and Wanda in Quindici, Italy. For the past 25 years Cliff had the yearning to recreate the foods that they missed and could only obtain upon traveling back.
Cliff realized that this desire to create was not only a craving for good pizza but a passion and a passion I wanted to share with friends and family. For the past many years Cliff began learning the ways of the pizza, tinkering with dough recipes, sauces and cheeses to make the best pizza possible.
In 2008 Cliff finally decided to hand build an oven in the back yard of their house which led training in Italy and then to finding retail space and opening our restaurant. We hope you will enjoy it as much as we do. This is real Neapolitan Pizza

Cliff Garzzillo is a trained and certified Pizzaiolo who is proud to serve you Traditional Wood Fired Neapolitan Pizza with all premium ingredients imported from Napoli. This strong statement is backed by our commitment to specifically selected high quality ingredients, made in a traditional manner with old world equipment. For example, our pizzas are made with San Marzano Tomatoes, which come from the base of Mount Vesuvius in Naples, we also use Fresh Whole Milk and Buffalo Mozzarella. Our dough made from the finest «00» flour imported from Italy.
Apizza di Napoli aims to transport each of its guests to the charm that is Naples Italy. So for anyone who has or wishes to travel to Italy to: eat the way Italians eat, to drink the way Italians drink, and to enjoy the way Italians enjoy, Apizzi di Napoli invites you to dine with us and experience «Napoli» without leaving Aiken.
