Paw Hills Luxury Pet Hotel & Spa

We were moving from Austin Texas to Oak Park but we didn’t have a house yet. Before my family relocated I had to fly out with my two cats as we did not want to subject them to an unpleasantly long car ride. The Paw Hills team took amazing care of Otto and Akela!

My two mastiffs loved their stay at Paw Hills! We had never boarded our dogs prior to this, and honestly I was a nervous wreck. I am a serial crazy dog mom and usually have a dog sitter at home with my boys. Tracy was very warm and informative from my first time into the office to talk, and remained so during our whole experience. I must have written a full page on the paragraph for «additional notes» and driven them crazy, but they were all so nice and understanding. The big guy is choosey, and the smaller guy loves every creature, but is a bull in a china shop. They kept my guys together in their big suite and in their personal playtime, paying special attention to each of them and rough housing. Two nights felt like an eternity, and the day we went to pick them up, I got a full status report and emailed photos of my happy dudes! Though they were thrilled to see us, I could tell they were happy and well taken care of at Paw Hills. We got them home about 6pm, at which time they passed out HARD and didn’t move until morning. My bullmastiff is still young and so hyper, so this was amazing. We are so pleased and will be boarding again very soon for our honeymoon. Knowing we don’t have to worry about our furbabies takes a huge weight off the shoulders.

Such a terrific place! We came to Paw Hills because of their Adopt-​a-​Pet program. The staff is really wonderful and obviously care so much about the dogs and what they do. So grateful to have found them. I only wish I lived closer because they’d be my go-​to spot. ;)

I would give them a negative review if I could. I have used Paw Hills on a number occasions but not anymore. We originally planned to have our dog boarded for 3 nights. My daughters soccer tournament ended early so we only needed 2. I arrived at the location at 5:45 and they informed me they haven’t given the animals there nightly feeding so I asked for the food. When they came out, it was only ¼ filled. I questioned them and they said that’s all I gave him for his feedings. Completely untrue. At 6 I received a call saying the found his food & I could grab it the next day. To my surprise, I opened the ¼ bag of food with my dogs name on it and it wasn’t his food. When I called the next day I said I would like to come by and get his food to see what type of food was in that bag and compare it to his regular food. They put me on hold for awhile and said they no longer have the bag. I have no idea what/​when they fed my dog during his stay. Completely unacceptable! They told me the owner would be calling me and have been waiting 2 weeks with no response.

My dog Ruby is always excited to go to Paw Hills! She starts wagging her tail as soon as she recognizes where we are going. I take this as a very good sign of the way they treat her! Ruby attends day camp about 3x per week (my long days at work) and boards once or twice a month when I have overnight trips. It’s reassuring to know she is with loving, caring people all day! And has plenty of other dogs/​friends to keep her company too. I compared the rates for several dog camps and hotels and Paw Hills was the best value in my opinion.

We recently adopted a dog from Paw Hills rescue. The staff was friendly, helpful, and accommodating. They were timely in all of their correspondence and answered any questions we had. To ensure that the dog we were interested in was the right fit for us, we were encouraged to make several visits. Each time, they were happy to help us during our meet & greet.
There were several dogs we were interested in meeting, and Paw Hills was supportive in allowing us time to get to know each one. As well as suggesting dogs that they thought would be a good fit.
We had met several dogs from other rescues, and they weren’t as knowledgeable or familiar with their dogs’ personalities. Paw Hills spends time with their rescue animals, so they were able to give us a better idea of what the dog was like moving forward.
Our newly adopted dog is wonderful and we’re thrilled to have him as part of our family. If we plan on adopting again, we’d definitely consider Paw Hills in the future.

If I could give 0 stars I would. We got approved for a home inspection to adopt a dog and was patient with the process. Mind you we visited the dog almost everyday. I was lead to believe there were no other applicants for this particular dog and had been told I was #1 in line to adopt. About week later I abruptly received a phone call saying the the dog was placed with another applicant. Of course my heart was broken because I felt a connection with this particular dog. Sadly I believe this company represents deceptive practices.

This place is wonderful. I finally have a place I can bring my dogs where I know that they’re really cared for. The true standout is Teresa, the manager there. She’s getting her vet tech degree and it’s clear she really empathizes with the dogs, particularly my emotionally damaged rescue lab. I’m very happy with the service and professionalism of all the employees I have met, and I’m grateful for this awesome place!

Took my 10 lb 1 year old poodle for a wash and cut. They did a great job and will definitely continue going back for grooming.

We have brought our dog here a few times for day stays, and last night was the first overnight stay here. Our pup ran to the attendant and was so excited to be back. We feel at ease when we drop off our pup here. When we picked him up, it was the same thing. Our pup seemed so happy and loved while we were away. Theresa at the front who checks us in is always friendly and super nice. She makes us feel even more comfortable here. Thank you Paw Hills!!!

I adopted an adorable English Bulldog from Paw Hills. Their first concern was for the dog, to make sure she was safe. Lola (my new baby), was dumped off with a note attached to her, and she had full milk sacks, so obviously nursing and taken away from her puppies. In the 2 weeks or so of the adoption process Lola opened up and her personality came out, and you can tell she really loved Tracy and those who were caring for her.
I’m very thankful and grateful for Paw Hills for caring for her and letting me adopted her!

Paw hills is wonderful! Truly customer service oriented. Top notch. When I need an appointment for my 2 papillons the staff here go out of their way to make it easy for you. I needed to leave my dogs all day after a grooming due to some dr’s appts running long and the staff had my pups playing in the big playroom for no extra charge. My pups were happy. I was happy and not stressed about time in a crate. And my dogs look gorgeous after every grooming! I will not go anywhere else!

Please note most of these reviews are misleading. When this establishment opened, they offered a discount for those who reviewed them on Unilocal.Also, I noticed that some reviews talk about taking their dogs here for over a year.
I brought my dog here for overnight stays several times only because I bought a pre-​paid package ahead of time when it was their grand opening special. However, after the first stay, I always dreaded taking him here. The facilities looked nice enough, but each time I picked him up after an overnight stay he would be in his kennel. I paid the extra $ 17 a day so he could be in day camp running about, but no matter what time I picked him up (whether it’s 2:00 pm or 4:00pm) he was never at day camp. I also noticed he would drink water after each stay as if he hasn’t had water in days. It was an unusual behavior for him. Lastly, the staff here (with the exception of one) are so rude. They don’t seem to care about the dogs or customers at all. They take them and stick them in the windowless concrete floor room. No one is in the room to watch the dogs in case something happens. No one is there to interact with the dogs. It’s just a cold environment with urine and feces sitting on the cold concrete floors. I would just gladly spend a few more dollars and head over to Dioji. It’s like night and day.

Absolutely LOVE and TRUST… Tracey and her staff at Paw Hills are the best. Tracey truly loves the animals and gives exceptional care to everyone of them!

We always see this place off the side of the freeway and we normally go to another facility in Agoura that we’ve always loved but I told my wife to call on the morning of 3÷25÷16 inquiring about the facility to maybe give it a try for our German Shepherd while we go on vacation. So my wife called and spoke to Tracy who was very rude from the get-​go. My wife asked if it was a cage free facility and and Tracy chuckled and said they all are my wife proceeded to say they are not all cage free facilities and was simply just asking if the dog sleep with the human or if they’re locked up at night time because I know and she knows other facilities that say they are cage free even know they lock them up at night time to sleep. Then my wife proceeded to ask if they have an outdoor play area which once again Tracy chuckles with the rude comment and says no it’s all indoor. I don’t know about you guys but my dog is my child and people in this business should understand that. We will not be using them

We took our 4 month old puppies for their very first hair cuts and the experience was outstanding. The receptionist was very warm, friendly and reassuring. Tracy took excellent care of our 2 puppies and when we asked her to cut their hair a bit shorter, she was more than happy to accommodate. The result was just what we wanted and the puppies were handled with love and kindness which is what any pet owner would hope for. The prices are very reasonable but more important than the price is the confidence that we have when we leave our puppies in their capable hands. As new pet owners, we couldn’t be more thrilled to have a resource like Paw Hills in the neighborhood. We highly recommend Paw Hills!

We had been relocated because of the Porter Ranch Aliso Gas leak. So were our four dogs. We searched for a place where we thought our babies would be happy. We found it at Paw Hill. At first we had a terrible time leaving them there. After a week, our babies were so happy, even when we visited them the dogs would give us around 20 minutes and then they wanted to go back to day camp. It reminded me of my children’s first experience at pre school. First crying then «ok mom» goodbye. Seven weeks and they still so happy. The staff loves all the animals. You can tell how kind they are when you see how the dogs react to them. This was a huge relief — one less thing we had to worry about after we were relocated. Tracie was easy to talk with, as her staff. Great place!

We have been taking our doggies for boarding for over a year and a half to Paw Hills and they both love it. From the minute they walk into the lobby, both Kiwi and Monte’s tails start wagging like they are going to fall right off.
The new location in Agoura Hills is just fantastic. Your staff is friendly and really loves animals. How do I know this? The dogs go right to them and never look back at us.
They love sleeping in the «Clubhouse» on all those cute little doggie beds you guys have.
Even though Kiwi is a «tinkler» it’s not a problem, you just put a little diaper on him and he is good to go.
When we pick them up after our vacations, they are excited to see us, but you can tell they have had a great time. We love the fact that there are groomers on site so when we come pick up our dogs, they are clean, groomed and look adorable.
They look forward to coming to stay with you when we take our two week vacation at the end of the year. Thanks again. We highly recommend Paw Hills.

We were first introduced to Paw Hills, when my husband surprised me with a puppy two days before we were going on a vacation. We brought our puppy to Paw Hills and during the week stay, my puppy, came back, potty trained, could do the following commands for «sit», «come» «Roll over» and could walk on a leash.
They helped me so much, by getting my puppy ready to come home. It lead to a happy puppy and a happy family. Then the following year when we got our new puppy, we did the same thing and it produced the same result.
Now that Paw Hills has expanded to a larger facility, my doggies, couldn’t be happier, the space is gorgeous and new and super clean and the dogs are so happy there.
My puppies along with others race to do the door because they know how much fun and care they will receive at Paw Hills.
What else we love about Paw hills is that they offer grooming, training, they also have an adoption facility.

(Note: many of the reviews below are not actually for Paw Hills that is on Canwood in Agoura. The Agoura Paw Hills only opened this year, so the posts that are below are misleading.)
After spending a couple thousand on a two week training camp for my 16 week old border collie pup, I was very disappointed to pick him up and find out that even though I had received emails about his progress, he was still jumping up on people on the leash, unable to «stay,» and unable to loose leash walk with a regular collar (not a choke collar). I have always had Australian shepherds and am no stranger to puppy behavior, their wily ways, and realistic expectations when training. I left dismayed, and was even more shocked when I came back (second mistake) and was told the trainer was fired because too many people were disappointed with their results. I love small businesses and wanted to see this on thrive since it is located so close to my house and I have multiple pets. I had such great hopes when they opened and was eager to have a facility down the street where my pets could go to daycare or get groomed or stay when I travel.
However, when I picked him up a second time, I was told that jumping up on people needed to be corrected with a shock collar. A shock collar! Coming from a luxury pet resort, I could not believe my ears, and especially with a puppy who shows no sign of aggression to people or animals. Shock collars should not be used to enable a dog to greet people appropriately! Perhaps if I had a dog exhibiting aggressive or threatening behaviors, but even then I firmly believe that should be a last resort. Such a suggestion made me question the ethics of a place that calls itself a «Luxury pet resort» since I see no justification in shock therapy for dogs. (The manager actually told me that shock collars don’t hurt that much because they are on the dog’s fur and not skin. SERIOUSLY?!)
The staff really put me off and it made me uncomfortable knowing my pets are staying somewhere that endorses this kind of thing with puppies. I spent a lot of money thinking that they would be somewhere that made me feel ok, but after the poor results from the training program, the fired trainer, and the recommendation to use a shock collar from a manager, I will not be returning.
If you want a luxury pet resort, this is not your place. Better luck at the Barkley (not a big price difference) because you deserve a greater sense of peace when you’re sending your pets away.
