Mahyar Okhovat, MD

Have had several emgs with this Dr. And he is thorough. To go along with his skills is a great personality. he takes time to explain what he is doing and answers any questions you may have. He always tells you his findings on the spot. Would recommend him for his thoroughness and bedside manner.

Dr. Okhovat has helped my headaches tremendously.
I’ve had them for many years and have had the most relief while being under his care.
He is one of the most compassionate doctors I know.
I would recommend seeing him if you suffer from migraines or headaches.

Dr. Okhovat has been my primary care physician for over 3 years now. His ability to diagnose health problems and depth of knowledge of solutions has helped me recover quickly from many ailments, from a lacerated elbow to an eye infection to strep throat to recently when my girlfriend had a toothache. Dr. Okhovat is by far the best doctor I’ve ever had and I can’t recommend him enough

I have to unfortunately give his office a very sub par rating. While he is a knowledgeable and affable doctor his office staff and his personal follow through is horrendous. I have needed his office to file minimum documentation to get medications approved by insurance for months and they flat don’t do it, leaving me without needed pain meds for arthritis. Seems once you leave the office and they get their deductible the service ends. Avoid.

I’ve only seen Dr. Okhovat 2 times (almost 2 hours yesterday) and we’re in the process of figuring out what’s wrong with me. During my first visit he immediately wanted to conduct an EMG after hearing about my history and current symptoms, however there wasn’t enough time with all of his scheduled appointments. I was impressed with his sense of urgency which showed true compassion on his end. Dr. Okhovat is the most patient doctor I’ve ever seen! I never feel rushed, he actively listens and he doesn’t exude a large ego like I’ve experienced with many doctors in Los Angeles. I had hand surgery 1 ½ years ago through a hand surgeon and as soon as he realized I didn’t have insurance (quit my job due to pain) anymore and he couldn’t «cut» into me, he started treated me like crap and wouldn’t listen to what I was saying when describing the pain I was in. Dr. Okhovat is a breath of fresh air for me especially after dealing with such an egotistical hand surgeon. I feel very comfortable with him and I’m confident he will soon figure out what’s wrong with me. Double and blurred vision along with arm/​hand pain is a terrible thing to be living with. Thank you Dr. Okhovat! I know we will get to the bottom of this!
