When I felt defeated and that my back was against the wall, I didn’t know where to turn. After loosing custody of my beautiful daughter, and getting downplayed in the court system, I new i needed someone to back me up! That’s when I met Jeffrey. I got served with a restraining order with false claims and felt like I was sinking. Even with a couple days until my court hearing, Jeffrey took my case with no hesitations. Not only did he protect me from this restraining order, Jeffrey gave me the confidence I needed to pursue more custody of my daughter. Knowing that I was a great responsible dad, we went for it! As a follow up, my divorce became final last year, and I’m writing to update on the experience. Neither my ex wife nor I wanted a battle. My ex’s attorney, however, did. Perhaps she was trying to get some extra billing? Jeff shut down my ex’s attorney without making an enemy of my ex. This last part was important to me. Though I wanted no part of being «friends» with my ex, I didn’t want any «bad blood» either. We all make enough enemies in life by accident. I didn’t want to make another one on purpose, especially the one I was supposed to grow old with. The litigation went smoothly, affordably, and fairly. Jeff negotiated a stipulated judgment that reflected the right result. My ex was a big earner, and she made more money than I do, so she wound up paying me, even though I’m the husband. It’s well known that divorce court is unfairly stacked against men, and Jeff knows how to even the playing field. Jeff was in constant communication with me, and responded to all of my questions. I have since referred several clients to Jeff, and they reported back to me that they were extremely happy with his representation.

I am a college graduate, am 18 years experienced in my industry, I hold respectable positions, and I take pride in my high integrity and good character. I got suckered in to being with the WRONG guy which eventually came to an end and pushed me in to the lands of divorce. My first attorney was great, but he witnessed my ex stalk me and was not able to defend thereafter (laws prevent that). I then shopped to retain a different attorney and came across Mr. Hoffer’s information. I read his website which was refreshing and our consultation was motivating. Hindsight is always ²⁰⁄₂₀ and I WISH there was a review on this guy when I was looking, but there was nothing. Soon, I learned he is the biggest crook-​attorney I have experienced and I truly believe my case is in a worse place due to retaining him. He severely lacks knowledge from knowing laws to the simple processing of things. He’ll keep you in the dark as much as possible. He preys on high-​conflict situations where people are extra vulnerable. He strategically creates the need for trials, which of course means easy billable hours. Makes TONS of mistakes. Does not prepare for hearings. Does not follow through with what he says. I am convinced his only strategy is to try and manipulate a situation on a whim rather than know facts about a case. I have heard him in discussions over the phone with his other clients. Every time, he would dismiss the person on the phone as being over-​reactive and that he «has it under control». Now, it makes sense to me why he was responding to people like this. I’m a believer that «how you do anything is how you do everything» so I guarantee I am not his only dissatisfied client. The eight months he was my attorney were the most dreadful, anxiety filled moments and it was driven by the fact he did not have his act together, nor my best interest at hand. The last time we went to court, I felt embarrassed to even have it be known he was defending me. He is lazy, cannot focus and performed so poorly that it became embarrassing. After all, it is a public forum and compared to the other attorney’s performing, he was awful. I found him on a review site, which I was driven to since my ex had covered nearly every reputable attorney in our area (Ventura County). I highly recommend you take a different direction — DO NOT retain this attorney, as you will regret it.

I had a difficult (too say the least) separation and child custody battle that ended up with me firing 11 (yes eleven) attorneys, until I found Jeff! The thing that immediately differentiates him from the others, is his compassion and heart. He actually returns your phone calls, if he doesn’t answer them right off the bat, and is very aggressive and knows all the courts and lawyers. Family Law is filled with the most evil shysters that are the origin of every lawyer joke, and what a frIkken breath of fresh air Mr. Hoffer is. I never thought my case would be settled, and never thought anyone would fight this hard for me. Thank you again, Jeffrey Hoffer for giving me back my life! Jeffrey, has been my attorney for over 10 years in what has been a long heavily litigious on going child custody. Every time we were in court Jeffrey was always there, on time and prepared to always defend my position. Jeffrey was always quick to respond to my calls and Emails and gave me solid and sound advice.
I’m glad I had Jeffrey on my side for that long journey.

JLH did such a poor job that I am suffering years later. He barley put up a defense, even when I request that he do so. He offered little for no advice during my mediation. He also botched the amount that I have to pay my spouse and I am stuck paying more than I should have. Trust me stay away from this guy. I suspected that something was wrong but when you are going through such a traumatic divorce you just expect your Attorney to have your back because you are under such stress. He failed miserably in this regard.

This guy is the most kick ass attorney in the world. Not only did he win every single point for me, his bills were half of that of my ex-wife’s attorney. He got the other side to pay my attorney fees and the judge told me I had a fantastic attorney. I would recommend this guy to anyone. He will be your best friend and your opponent’s worst nightmare.
