my ac did not work. barry said he could fix it for $ 500.00. i asked him to put in freeon and he refused saying it would not work. the next day went to service station and freeon was added for $ 39.00. has worked fine for over 6 months now. when i told him he didnt care and was arrogant.

So happy I found Agoura Lube and Smog! I was searching for a local shop in Agoura to basically fix everything about my car (brakes, belt, oil etc.) It took a day for the parts to come in and another day to fix it all up. I don’t know much about cars but the guys there were so friendly and helpful, I didn’t feel like I was getting taken advantage of. I don’t trust anyone else with my Toyota Prius but them :)

Printed out a smog check coupon from on-​line, brought my car in during the lunch hour (a prius now needs to be smogged) and was out in 5 minutes.

These guys are cheaters and liars. I am not the only one who feels this way or had that experience. Do yourself a favor, stay away! They had my car in five times and five times they never fixed it, finally I have to take them to small claims court. STAY AWAY!

If I could rate lower I would. I used to come here with every vehicle my family owned. Today I took my 2000 Ford Truck to attempt to Smog it. The truck is old and has a book full of issues, but with no issues passing 2 years ago, I figured I would try again. Well I showed up to the place and the owner and his lackeys were clearly having some discussion that wasn’t going well. Upon plugging my truck into the code reader the attitude the mechanic took with me was that of a 3 year old child. He spoke to me as if I knew nothing about cars. Well news flash, I do. Talking to me using big words that you make up saying ‘With Error Truck will never pass, need fix before even test.’
If you feel that my truck won’t pass a test, just tell me, don’t you dare talk to me as if I know nothing. Customer care is the only thing that lets a business survive. This place lacks even the kindness of a ‘Hello”.
If you want to be treated like a know nothing piece of garbage, go here. If not, take your business elsewhere. I don’t have time to be treated like crap.
Lost my business and everyone I knows business as well.

Just got my truck smogged at Agoura Lube & Smog for the second time. My wife and I have gotten all our vehicles smogged and occasionally serviced there for the last few years. Every time we do, our experience is so positive that I tell them I’m going to write a review but then I never get around to it. So today I decided to actually do it.
They guys over there, especially Larry, are so professional and so pleasant that sometimes I end up hanging out after the work is done. Very nice people. When I’m in a hurry I’m in and out really quickly.
Also, I used to never let my wife take a car for smog or service because so many technicians see a woman and assume they don’t know much about cars and try to up sell them things they don’t need. But the guys at Agoura Smog & Lube are honest. So I have no problem sending the Mrs over there unprotected by me (LOL).
Anyway, I highly recommend this place. Great service, great prices and honest staff.

I just had my car repaired here. At first meeting everything seemed fine and the car needed to be diagnosed to find out what was wrong with it. I received a call from Barry that told me what was wrong with it and he was going to call back and let me know how much the repair was going to cost. Midday I went into the shop to find out what was going on and they had already repaired it without letting me know how much it was going to be. The lack of a call back is my only complaint. The bill was double what I expected. The work had to be done, I just wasn’t ready for the cost.
I called around (Pep boys and Oreiley) and found what I expected the cost to be wouldn’t have paid for the parts. They weren’t cheap but I have to say the work was good.

I was charged $ 97 for an oil change. Acura dealer charges for the exact same service and oil $ 39.99. This place is a ripoff stay away.

In and out quickly for both an oil change and «Star» Smog. I brought my dog with me and they had treats there to give her. Four different employees came up to pet her and converse with me about dogs. Everyone was very friends and it was fast.
An added bonus, easy on and off the 101 near by. Also, there is a tire store and detailer near by. It’s like a one stop shop block for your car.

Just got my mini done today. All the guys there were very friendly and the smog guy is a crack up! His dog Stevie is a cutie too and she came over and gave me a lot of love and affection while i was waiting.
The guys were great at explaining why my car was burning oil and after they changed mine my car was running like a champ. My car tends to burn oil faster than most because of the turbo so they’re free top off service that was offered to me is definitely an awesome bonus on top of their great sercice. I have gone here for over 7 years and i decided it was time to write a review.

I wish I could give this place 0 stars. I brought my Volvo here to have my side mirror replaced a few weeks ago. Nothing was broken other than the mirror, which was shattered. I also needed my oil changed and washer fluid refilled. THAT IS ALL. I ordered the replacement mirror on line, but wasn’t sure if it was the correct kind of mirror. I asked the mechanic, Barry (who was increasingly rude to me throughout the exchange), if he would replace the mirror with the one I brought in only if it was the correct kind. He said he didn’t know if it was the correct kind (odd for a Volvo specialist) but he could tell it was bad quality and didn’t want to install it. I said that was fine, and not to install it. Instead we agreed he would order the correct part I needed and install that when it came in. He said it would take about 24 hours. I return 24 hours later to find that Barry had installed the incorrect mirror, never ordered the correct one, and had changed my oil and washer fluid all to the tune of $ 410. I was irritated that I was so grossly overcharged and I was even more flustered to learn he had installed the wrong mirror and charged me for it! He seemed annoyed with me for asking questions about the replacement such as «why did you install the incorrect mirror? Where is the one you ordered?». It turns out he never ordered it. He agreed, again, to order the mirror, and call me when it arrived. On my way home i realized the mirror was such poor quality that it completely fogged up and was unusable while driving even in 65 degree weather. they told me to return the following day to have it looked at. It turns out having it looked at meant they were going to rip the mirror out and not re install it, leaving the center piece of the mirror frame violently flapping in the wind as I drove. He refused to put it back in without charging me again and instead taped it on with a small piece of masking tape. Well, 2 weeks later I call him to see if my part came in. Turns out he never ordered it and pretended he didn’t even know who I was. All the while maintaining the same rude F-​you attitude I had come to expect from him. If you want your Volvo fixed by a real specialist, DO NOT GO HERE! This man is not only incompetent, he is unreasonable, rude, and a downright SCAMMER. Guess I’m off the the Volvo dealership now…
I should also mention that they are next to impossible to get ahold of over the phone and it seems they don’t have any real form of management here as there was no one I could voice my complaint with at the shop other than, you guessed it, Barry.

$ 65 for a smog and certificate? I can get this for $ 35 in Ventura where I live. No thanks!

I called couple of places to see where I should take my Volvo for an oil change and scheduled maintenance… I either got a very expensive quote or someone who did not have the time for questions. But when I called Barry he told me that he had worked on Volvo for over 30 years, and is a master Volvo technician. and actually answered all my questions on the phone… Also he was less expensive.
They were a little busy when I got there but I was able to connect to their WiFi and do my work while they did the oil change, Barry inspected the car and took it for a test drive and made some recommendations as to what I may consider doing, I never felt any pressure to do anything now now like other places.
I was pleasantly surprised.

I must compliment Larry and the folks at Agoura lube & Smog. I needed to have one of my cars smogged before renewing the registration and I took it over this Saturday morning. I met Larry at the counter and he had time for me right away. 15 minutes later it was all done. The place is clean, easy to find and friendly. I highly recommend Agoura Lube & Smog.

Very friendly, fast service. I used to hate having to get my oil changed until today. These guys chatted with my girls and didn’t try to sell me on things I didn’t need. I will be back and tell all of my friends.

I own multiple vehicles and over the years they all require smog testing at times. DMV renewals, buying and selling, you just can’t beat Mo for smog work. I discovered he moved, still in Agoura Hills, just a little further east. Mo is a straight shooter, doing good and honest work with the right pricing, so I will continue to recommend him to all friends and relatives, as I have over the years.

Moe and company has recently moved from the car wash (West of IHOP) over to next door to the TIre Man near the Ventura Freeway and Cheseboro, a big upgrade from the old place. They actually have a waiting room now and free WiFi, oh boy!
Now I can get the lube job and walk over to the gas station next door for a snack, unlike before. These guys accept others coupons and are competitive with the Jiffy Lube off Kanan, and are friendlier and get you out quicker, especially during the week, at least IMHO.
I give them five stars for this incident — Out a lube job off a coupon, drove home and realized they left my oil cap off — under the hood — but they forgot to put it on. Luckily it did not fall off. But I had a nice little pool of oil in my driveway. I called Moe and he apologized, came out with a steam cleaner that night with the guy who did the lube job, cleaned my driveway and car, refilled my oil, and gave me two free lube jobs. He then came a few days later to check up on the driveway and the car, to make sure there was no stains.
People make mistakes, but few actually apologize, correct them and move on. Im not sure if the same happened at another oil place if the owner would come out and clean up my driveway.
Bring a coupon and hit them up for a lube job before they get too busy in their new digs.

These guys rule. Super friendly, personable and care about the work they do. A refreshing change from other lube places I’ve been to.
