History

Established in 2006.

The VLounge was opened July 5^th, 2006, after one and a half years of design work and three years of getting the required permits and to build the facility that holds the V Lounge and the adjoining Restaurant and Banquet Hall. The VLounge now host events like DJ’s and Live Bands to give your night life some real life. Meet up with friends or host a party of your own to get FREE entertainment for your event. There is never a cover charge and Reservations can be made to ensure your seating needs.

Business Owner

Vic Venuti grew up in Abruzzo, Italy and came to Chicago in 1958 where he worked in steel mills and cleaned theaters. A year later, he brought his fiancée to the United States to get married. He and his wife, Alba, made their home in Chicago, and in 1960 Vic worked at a diner and then at the city’s legendary Gino’s East.

He went into business for himself in 1965 when he opened his own restaurant on St. Charles Road in Villa Park, later moving it to North Avenue.

Now in his 70’s, Venuti was in Italy recently to purchase two pasta machines with 20 dies to enable Venuti’s to serve more cuts of pasta. Mrs. Venuti is not as busy in the family business as in the past, but she continues, with her husband, to make Mama V’s limoncello. Their private label is sold and served at Venuti’s.
