We have been to Tokyo One many times and it’s pretty consistent. They have great selection when it comes to both sushi and non-sushi food including tempura, noodles and dessert. It used to be one of my favorite restaurants, but the only thing I noticed last time we were there was that some sushi had«fish tank» smell and taste. We haven’t been back since then, and moved onto non-AYCW places for sushi. We do plan on going back some time to check it out and I’ll update my review if anything changes.

It base been many years since I have been to Tokyo One in Dallas. The sushi selection seems to have lessen. The non sushi selection is good. The beef kabobs and sea bass were extremely good. The desserts were good. I enjoyed the crème brûlée and they offer you a selection of ice cream at the end. If I had room, I would have eaten more brûlée. The selection was less because I went during lunch, but for the price I would have expected more. In total the buffet, drink(not included) and tip came out to about $ 25. The dinner is $ 35 for the buffet. Recommend for the experience. One of the better sushi/Japanese buffet, but a little over priced. Wait staff was friendly and fast. Very quick to take away your dish and fill your drink. Enjoy Folks

One of the best Japanese restaurant in DFW! A good starter is the green tea ramen with mushrooms, tofu and seaweed! My favorite is the Korean BBQ short ribs and of course sushis!

Delicious fresh food! Great variety! You have to have a big appetite because it’s $ 34.99/ person. They charged my three year old $ 4.99 which was totally fair. The waitress had a few times when they let the plates pile 5 high, but very nice and helped my one year old get more napkins. Come check it out!

I’ve been to Tokyo One many times and it’s almost always consistent. They have plenty of options that can cater to everyone. The food here is great, and during my most recent visit, the service was exceptional. I was carrying a bowl of ramen in one hand and a plate of food in the other while weaving through a large crowd. A waiter noticed me, took my bowl, and brought it to where I was sitting. Major props to him! The waiters were also very attentive at refilling our water and taking away our plates quickly. The hot foods are indeed hot and you can tell that the cooks replenish it often. This is definitely my favorite sushi buffet in Dallas. Pro Tip: be sure to order ice cream from your waiter at the end of your meal!

I celebrated my friend’s birthday here. When we arrived, we told the people in the front that it’s our friend birthday, so we could get the free cake and the discount. However, when we finished our meal and ask the lady when we’ll get the cake. Nobody told her about it, and told us that we should have just told her before hand. So in the end, we didn’t get a cake. Lame. The food is mediocre. The hot pot is not worth it. The food for the hot pot was all frozen rock solid. Would I come back? Nah. We were in between Osaka or here since we never been to both before. Now I wished that my friend chose Osaka.

I love Sushi! And not many of my friends share the same love as I do so I go most of the time with my dad. So my dad and I decided to go to Tokyo One, we have been there before and it has been good so we decided to go back. After going to the buffet I sat down and began to eat. As soon as I took a bite I felt regret the sushi was warm. I was so freaked out by this and the weird fishy taste I lost my urge to eat. I tried to go up to the buffet multiple times to try other thing but the same sushi and food just kept sitting there. it was like they never switched the food out for fresh food. the service was great but the food overall was terrible. That night when I went home my stomach wouldnt stop hurting, I will not return here for awhile.

It’s been a long long time to be honest since I have eaten here, so this review is really from my experience here in the past. I always have loved tokyo one for what it is. I typically do not like buffet style places, but I really like it here. Theres a plethora of different options with your typical choices available.

Tokyo One(T1) was picked as a birthday destination and not a food type I was normally pick. I was assurred there were Chinese food picks so off we go. AS a buffet, this sounded promising. If you like sushi, T1 has a variety for all pallettes. I don’t care for sushi, so I won’t review that part here. I did try all of the grilled type chinese meats. The best one was the Lamb Chop. Good combo of jiucy and spiced. The other meats were heavy on the spices and it killed the enjoyment of the juiciness. The Tempura Shrimp sticks saved the night for me in regard to the food. Onto dessert. I tried a sampling of all the desserts in the hopes to kill the mish-mash of spices used on the meats. The mousse cakes tasted like cheap chinese buffet desserts out of a box… and out for a couple of days. The pecan pie was a variant that I’ve not tasted before and didn’t deserve a second bite. The saving grace on the dessert table was the Oreo pie that was evidently a thaw and serve variety with some quick whipped up topping on top. I ate 3 thin slices to kill the lingering flavors of the desserts. The service kept our teas topped and were quick to clear the plates as we finished them. Being asked for ice cream was a nice bonus. The Vanilla, the red bean, and the mango were a treat. When the check arrives, the $ 35 per person and the $ per drink blew my mind. For the quality of food that I had, I would think $ 8.99 would be more appropriate. Not worth that price. Since it was for a birthday, I begrudgingly laid my card on the pay tray. Botton Line: Good friendly service didn’t save the food expereience. Strong overwhelming spices on the meat, lack of more chinese type food options combined with desserts of a cheap quality and over the top pricing made this visit an instant«I won’t be back» option.

Food: 5⁄10 — 7⁄10(inconsistent quality and freshness) Service: 7⁄10 Value: 4⁄10 Ambience: 7⁄10(well decorated and good atmosphere) We’ve been going to this place off and on for 5 years. I can honestly say that the quality was either a hit or miss each time we went. However, the overall freshness seemed to be declining over the years. Sushi(5⁄10): Cold and not up to par overall. Not expecting much from a sushi buffet, but it could be better. Salad(7⁄10): Good selection and seemed to be fresh most of the time Hot entrees(6⁄10): Get them while they’re fresh off the pan/grill or expect mediocre and dry dishes Tempura(8⁄10): nomnomnomnom. Ramen/Udon(4⁄10): Forgettable. The broth was just tasteless. Crabs(6−8÷10): Again, the freshness is hit or miss. Desserts(5⁄10): Average looking and tasting sweets This place used to be my favorite sushi buffet place, but the more I go there, the less favorite it became due to its inconsistency. tl;dr — Give this place a go if you feel like gambling on getting either some nice sushi/crab or potential(mild) food poisoning. I’d recommend asking to walk around and see all the food first before sitting down. Stay safe out there.

tl;dr: Personally, I like Osaka more. Anyway, came with the parents for a celebratory birthday dinner for lunch on a Saturday. We got there right at opening time and everything was already all laid out and it was pretty easy to see that it was a popular spot as the tables filled up quite a bit. Service was nice and fast. The food was decent. Given it’s a buffet touting sushi and noodles and hot pot and a hot dish selection you can’t expect everything to be top notch but overall it was decent. The sushi as expected was very rice-y and they had a large selection of sashimi(although the spicy tuna was a bit weird) and different rolls but overall a bit underwhelming. Most of their hot dishes were«meh» and one of the cute tiny dessert pastries was actually stale when I took a bite. Still, a sushi buffet is amazing in any form. If I were nearby sure, I’d stop by. But otherwise I’d prefer to drive the ten or fifteen minute difference to a different sushi buffet.

This used to be one of my ‘go to’ places when in Addison. I don’t find myself there for lunch much anywhere but I had the opportunity to take some customers and co-workers there recently. They did not disappoint. The buffet selection was similar to what it always was and the quality of the food was consistently good. Everyone especailly likes the Sesame Balls. Good place for a medium to large sized group.

It’s been awhile since I’ve been here, but the selection was smaller than what I remembered but the quality is better than most buffets. Came for lunch on a weekend. — They have a sashimi, nigiri, sushi bar that was really fresh for a buffet. — There is a noodle bar, and it was a good idea, but was not a fan. The broth was not that great. — Loved the shrimp and vegetable tempura. — I wish there were more hot dishes. I felt like there were a total of 6 – 7. There was galbi, curry chicken, mussels, and fried bass. They had shrimp cocktail at the cold bar. There also seemed to be people eating hot pot, but not quite sure how that worked. — The green tea ice cream is amazing and the crème brûlée. The service was really good, but I don’t think it was worth the price. On a weekend for lunch($ 24) for adults and you don’t even get crab legs or high quality seafood. I do think that charging for kids aged 5 – 6 was unfair($ 13). They don’t eat anything really. Had we known earlier, it would definitely be a deterrence.

I don’t think the selection or quality of food justifies the price. The sushi selection is extremely limited. The only have three types of sashimi– salmon, tuna, and tilapia. They didn’t have have mackerel. The rolls didn’t look very fresh to me. I felt that the selection of food was limited. There was one row of warm food, one row of cold dishes, and then the sushi. They had a dessert bar on the side, and the best dessert was the oreo cream pie. Oh, and their green tea ice cream had a strange taste going on. The service was on point tho. The waitresses were nice and attentive.

The first time I came here I would give it 5 right away because it’s such a wonderful experience, but lately BEWARE my friends let me tell you why. Atmosphere:(4⁄5) *Good music and nice ambience. Place decorated nicely looks upscale. Not so loud even when busy. Food:(2⁄5) *THISISTHEBEWAREPART!!! Foods are OLD!!! My goodness, I used to love this place but now the raw foods are sour, spoiled and NOTFRESH. You pay a lot of money to eat here and what you get is sour fish? On the other hand, the cooked food are good like noodle bar and stir fry station, get your food there LA short ribs are good. They will probably fail the next inspection. Nevertheless desserts are fantastic! Staff:(3⁄5) *Many staffs have bored face on all the time make you feel like they don’t want to come to work but some are very nice. The main problem is they gossip about customers. I mean, this happens everywhere, but at least do it away from customers so we don’t have to pretend we don’t know we are being made fun of. Because I understand their language and I know they are gossiping about the customers. Cleanliness:(5⁄5) *This place is pretty much spotlessly clean. Carpet, table silverware are clean. Good hang out spot: Yes very much

Weekday lunch is only 16.99. I’ve been trying to search for something like this in California but haven’t had any luck. Drinks are additional. If you love sushi buffet, this place is a must. Since they have sashimi(no rice) for the picking. Their ice cream green tea is more ice cream flavored which I love. It’s unlimited, don’t be shy and ask for more! Crème brûlée and Oreo desserts are top notch! Sashimi, sushi, Kalbi, shrimp tempura, ramen, udon, fried rice, hot pot, Crème brûlée, and green tea ice cream all included in the price. Everything’s good quality as well. Servers are amazing with refills and taking your plates. For dinner they usually have cold crab legs included. !!TIP: Get a hot pot and drop the crab legs in so they’re hot ;) !!

I really enjoyed both the food and service here. The food is prepared fresh and frequently so you can tell it hasn’t been sitting out for a while. They offer a lot of variety: ~Salads/Appetizers(Crab legs, kimchi, edamame, grilled veggies, deviled eggs, shrimp, dumplings, etc.) ~Sushi, Sashimi, Rolls ~Korean ribs, kabobs, chicken, Hibachi Grill, noodles, fried rice, egg rolls, shrimp tempura, veggie tempura ~Ramen Noodle Bar and you can put your own toppings on it. Choice of Broth: Shoyu Ramen(soy sauce flavor w/chicken base), Spicy Thai(hot & sour w/fish base), Udon(mushroom flavor), Green Tea Noodle Mushroom Soup ~Hot Pot(You can request this from your server and they will bring you a pot to your table and you can add seafood, veggies, tofu etc which is located in the buffet) ~Dessert(Crème brûlée, cakes, fruit, ice cream) PRICES: Lunch(Mon-Fri) $ 16.99,(Sat & Sun) $ 22.99 Dinner $ 32.99-$ 35.99 We chatted with the manager while we were at the Ramen Noodle Bar and found out that she has family in California. She came later on to our table and we talked a bit more. Our server was also on his game. He was so quick to take away plates even when we were barely done with it! He was also constantly refilling our hot teas, brought out the hot pot, and also ice cream. 73⁄100 Reviews for 2015

Décor: 3.5÷5 Service: 3.5÷5 Food: 4⁄5 When it comes to buffets, you need a strategy. Go for the protein, limit the carbs and liquids. I skipped over the noodle soup, tempura and rice. I also limited sushi and went for the sashimi. Quality of the salmon, tuna, seared salmon, hamachi were not bad. The ahi poki was great because it was seasoned. The cumin lamb and short rib were tender and flavorful. The seasoned chicken wings were surprisingly good too. Of the desserts, my favorite was the french cheesecake followed by the oreo cake. The only thing that bugged me was how slow the unagi(eel) was replenished. Parties of 8 can be seated comfortably.

Food(**** out of *****); A lot of variety of food; sushi rolls, sashimi, made to order noodles station(udon, ramen, etc), hot food station(korean short ribs, crab, Japanese egg pudding, tempura, curry chicken Thai style, steak skewers cooked medium, cooked mussles with cheese, fried rice, stir fry to order, etc.) cold food station(various salads, jelly fish, etc.), desserts and fruit station(strawberry, melons, papaya, pineapple, flan, cheesecake, crème brûlée, Chinese black jello, etc.). If you can’t find something here you like, you’re not human. It is as good as most Las Vegas premium buffets. Service(* out of *****); Very poor service. The head sushi chef needs to go to Royal China to see how open kitchens are done. He has a very sour, bitter face and he jealously guards his sushi like it’s his family jewels or something. During rush hour when everyone is wanting food, he doesn’t put any food out on the buffet line. However, when everyone has finished eating and NOBODY is on the buffet line, he’ll put food out. What is he thinking! Put the food out when everyone is getting food and leave the buffet line empty but make sushi to order when nobody is on the line. This is the first time I came to this place on a Saturday night. I normally come to eat here at lunch right when they open on weekdays. Now, I understand where all the bad reviews of this place comes from. I previously thought that all the negative reviewers are all eating at another Tokyo One in another dimension! The waiters all RUNAWAY from you when they see you trying to flag them down. Really! It’s almost comical! I know the restaurant is busy and it’s hard work, but at the very least up up a finger to indicate that you’ll be back in one minute. Don’t run away. The used plates stacked up and up. At one point I started to put plates on the empty table next to mine, almost(I didn’t because that would be rude). Atmosphere(** out of *****); Really loud in there with everyone talking, and the TV playing. They have an enormous TV in there so if some game is on, that’s a good place to go, I guess. Just check to see if they have the channel you want to watch ahead of time. All big parties will be in the loud tv room. If you’re in a small party of 4 or less, ask to be in a privacy booth in the other room for a quiet, intimate meal. Make a reservation if you don’t want to wait, especially if you have a large party. Conclusion(** out of *****); For dinner, it’s not really that good a deal. Dinner is $ 33 but weekday lunch is $ 17. Weekend lunch is $ 23. The only difference between lunch and dinner service is the crab legs, but it is much more expensive for dinner. So, unless you really like crab legs, don’t go for dinner. Plus, the service at night really sucks, too. If you wanna eat there, be sure to go there for weekday lunch right when they open like I do. For good food but bad service, come to Tokyo One for dinner.
