The Import Auto Gallery

I bought a 2010 Audi A4 wagon from The Import Auto gallery and I was pleasantly surprised with the service I received. I bought my car from Jessie and he did a great job of showing me the different features that the Audi had to offer. I also don’t have great credit but Jessie was able to get me approved at a better rate then I was expecting. If you are looking for a nice car at a nice price I would recommend the Import Auto Gallery!

I have to re-​post since my discussions with Ed the Business Manager for Import Auto Gallery. There was a huge problem with poor communication on Tom Izzo’s part but once I had the ability to talk with Ed he made sure to make everything that was wrong with my original deal right. He was professional and made my working with this dealership what I was hoping for when I originally bought my BMW. Fun. Please check these guys out and make sure to talk with Ed.

And they suck do not go here I went there to buy a car. I called them in advance & they told me it was all good and come down & take a look at it and you’ll buy it. But when I went there. I turned on the car and all types of lights came on !! the guy wouldn’t even put the machine on it for me I asked him hey put the machine on it so we can know what’s going on. Then he told me that his mechanic locks everything away come on, lock up a scanner! have a scanner at home I didn’t bring it because I thought they were a legit operation but boy was I wrong! their full of shit don’t go here was your time these guys are big rip offs European assholes of the first order!

Was very happy with my experience at Import Auto was worth the drive from the city. Went in looking for a jeep found a couple but decided on a Range Rover. Left with my new car under two hours.

The import auto gallery is a great place to get a USED CAR AT A GREAT PRICE! Remember people these are used cars not new for all these other reviews! This is my 3^rd car from import auto gallery and is my go to used car dealer! If anyone is looking for a good deal on a used car I would highly recommend this place! THANKS IMPORT AUTO GALLERY!

So I am writing with frustration and disappointment. I have had a busy last couple of weeks but I found time to get everything together and I had taken out cash in hand and 99% ready to buy an suv we found online here. So I call around 7:10 or so and let them know we are coming in from downtown Chicago and are interested in the suv. The guy says they are open till 8pm and to stop by they will be there and gladly let us see it. So we drive all the way from downtown Chicago to this place. We get there at 7:40. The place is deserted, locked, and all lights off. Wow hysterical, If you didn’t want to wait for us or a better day would be suited. don’t tell us that you will be there.
I think this is the most irradiated I have been in a long time (certainly not easy to do). It would have been one thing if I hadn’t called and showed up and they closed early. then well its my issue for not calling. The fact that this dick said they were there till 8pm and that they WOULD BE THERE is just plan BS. Thanks for showing that our time is a joke to you, no wonder you have a shop hidden away off the strip in an industrial park (a first for me). With you band of idiots Im sure you don’t do enough business to pay rent on a place with the regular dealers on the main strip.

If I could give this place negative stars I would. On the test drive, I took the car out to a mechanic. The mechanic said that the car’s tie rod was on the verge of breaking and that I could possibly lose all ability to steer the vehicle. My mechanic said it was so unsafe, he would not let me drive it out of his garage with my children. I called Import Autos and they tried to minimize what my mechanic said. I was told that any mechanic would be bound to find problems.
My mechanic also found the wheel bearing and the stabilizer links needed to be repaired. My mechanic estimated these fixes at around 750.00. Import Autos agreed to fix the tie rod with my mechanic and have Import’s mechanic take care of the other fixes. After over a month of calling and calling to schedule this repair, I went in and got the car fixed (or so I thought).
I took it back to my mechanic to check the work of Import Auto’s repair people. Needless to say, nothing was fixed. I looked at the wheel bearing, and the «new» part it was visibly old and rusty!!! When I bought the car, I saved about 1500 on the cost of the car compared to other dealers. After I have paid for the repairs that they were supposed to fix and new tires, I would have saved money, time, and emotional hardship by going somewhere else.

Recently but a Truck from here. Drove it for 1 hour and noticed a noise in the suspension. Right after that the check engine light came on. Called the salesman Tom back and he suddenly wasn’t in the office everytime I called. Ended up being $ 2000 worth of additional work that they weren’t willing to fix. Excluding the cost of new brakes and a bad tire which was worn out on the inward side.
I was suckered, don’t be another victim!

Run by a cheating scammer.
Prices are much higher than they should be given the cars they’re selling and the market they’re in. With their already hyper-​inflated car prices, they add a ton of additional bogus fees right at the end (make sure you check out what fees are real vs. bogus and the maximum cap on the real ones before you go car shopping as dealers like this will make up hundreds and hundreds in nonsense fees).
The car I was looking at went up a good 20% in cost when we got to negotiating, and I shouldn’t even call it that because the owner just stuck to his original ridiculous price while attempting pathetic theatrics such as showing the «actual price he paid for the car.» This number was of course made up and obviously so as it was higher than most other dealers were selling the same car for, not to mention what they may have actually paid to get it on their lots.
While the other employees are nice, the prices are absurd and the owner is a pathetic attempt at a scam artist who would rather gloat to his unhappy customers that he has more money than they rather than even think about negotiating down a hyper-​inflated price. Avoid.

Save yourself the trip, the Import Auto Gallery is run by a second-​rate scam artist.
I was drawn to Import Auto Gallery via a Craigslist post in 2009. At this point, the used car dealer visually seemed to be struggling to make ends meet. I typically never deal with used car dealers, given that most people will tell you (and as will I from experience) that they overcharge for mechanically less-​than-​decent vehicles which they shine and detail. It’s sort-​of a no-​brainer, but I wanted to check out what seemed like a fair deal on exactly the car I wanted.
After driving all the way out to the suburb of Addison from the city, I was met with a car that looked nothing like the photos in the ad. The close-​up photos did not show the scratches and dents that the car had, and I was livid for having wasted the time.
After being redirected by staff to cars over $ 5K more than the one I looked at, I told the owner that if he fixed the scratches and dents, I would be interested in the car. The owner called me the next day saying the car was almost fixed, and to drop by tomorrow. The next day, he had risen the price $ 1000, which was more than $ 2K over blue book. We went back and forth on the cost as is expected, and he was completely unwilling to negotiate, even on the $ 1000 charge he’d added overnight.
We argued about the blue book thing, and I pointed out that the «dealer» suggested blue book reflected the price for purchasing a car through a dealer assuming there is a warranty involved. As he did not offer a warranty, I told him I would not pay a cent more than the standard private party cost. He relented, and I purchased the car.
My mistake was in not bringing a mechanic with me to inspect the car, which I have done for older cars I’ve purchased. The car cost me over a thousand dollars in repairs in the first few months, and had been fixed with obviously subpar parts (cheap off-​brand rubber hoses used to replace the engine’s vacuum system itself (literally each of which individually and quickly blew while I was driving), flimsy zip-​ties used to route these vacuum lines, quikseal around the oil pan instead of a proper silicone gasket, etc.).
Save yourself the time, don’t shop at Import Auto Gallery. His showroom is stocked with poorly cared for examples of what were fine, premium cars at one point. He overcharges more so than other used car dealers, and goes to great lengths to portray his organization as high end, when in reality he is a second-​rate scam artist. The place is a total joke, no better than the chop shops on the south side.
And remember, above all else, when buying a used car be sure to bring a mechanic with you. The $ 50 you’ll pay him will pay off when you avoid paying big for costly mechanical problems in what could turn out to be a lemon.

Went in to get a 2004 BMW 530i. The service was amazing. Perfect cars, perfect service! I could not imagine buying my car from anywhere else!
