Stav’s has pretty good food! I wish I still lived close by! Their gyros are good and If you’re trying to eat healthier, their salads are also awesome! You get a lot of food for a great price and it doesn’t hurt that they have a drive thru as well!

Great Value !! Grecian grilled chicken special is fantastic, 2 thighs, 2 legs, rice pilaf, oven baked potato and bread for a little over $ 5 and it is delicious. Gyros, burgers, and lemon rice soup are all very good as well. Fresh salads, Family run and well worth the money.

I go there every week because not only is their food and service is good, but all the employees are very friendly and will do anything for you. The other people who reviewed them before should give them another chance. You probably went on an off day and we all have those from time to time.

Ever have a mental struggle with your taste buds? One half is telling you to eat something ‘healthy’ while the other half is sayin ‘just give in to the gyros? Happens to me all the time… I have persnickety taste buds *sigh*… I was driving on my way home and realized I hadn’t eaten anything but a protein bar all day(one of those days). I was getting hungry and thought of making something quick at home, but then realized it wouldn’t be as ‘quick’ as going to a drive-thru. While I was entertained by the thought of Portillo’s grilled tuna sandwich(pretty tasty), Stav’s was another choice, both being in my direction. Suffice to say, I gave in to the gyro since I hadn’t had one in a very, very long time. I’ve never tried one from Stav’s, so I pulled in, placed my order which came with soup or coleslaw(I chose the lemon rice soup) and grabbed a homemade ‘spinach pie’ also. NO this is not a whole pie. It’s a small rectangular shaped spanakopita, if you will. And I love these.(the owners are Greek, by the way…) Since everything is cooked to order here & I didn’t call in advance, I had to wait approximately 10 minutes for my food to be ready. Didn’t bother me at all… no big deal. The gyros plate included fries, 1 pita and lots of thinly sliced fresh meat… probably some of the better gyro meat I have tasted at any Greek or fast food joint. And this beats Franky’s on Lake hands down! Meat was not greasy, salty or grossly thick. Not heavy. Just really tasty, moist & fresh with my perfectly grilled soft, tender pita and tzatziki… delish! They even included extra tzatziki(a little ‘thin’, but tasty). After eating half, I decided to move along to my lemon rice soup. If you’ve never had it before it is a thicker Greek soup. They give you a good serving… almost a small soup bowl’s worth. I’ve had it here before and this time it was even better. Lemony, velvety, smooth — almost custard like, with rice. This was delicious. Since this soup is made with eggs(hence, ‘custard like’) it did not taste eggy in the least. Yumminess without feeling ‘heavy or grossly ‘thick’. Perfect consistency. Had just one bite of my spinach pie and it was OK. I’ve had better. Was filled w/lots of spinach wrapped in phyllo, but needed more feta imo. Not bad at all though. Stav’s has an extensive fast food list, and I’ve tried the kebabs(good), ribs(surprisingly good) and gyros(very good) so far… If your in the mood for fast Greek food, I’d stick to Stav’s where you know the Greek owners are doin the cookin! No offense Stav’s, but the next time we meet, it will have to be for a chicken kebab! No more gyros for me for awhile! ;) ps. they also serve pork souvlaki… wonder what that tastes like?

I love this place! We used to go here a lot more often before we moved, but we still come here every so often. We get the gyro combo with grilled onions and extra sauce, and it’s always fabulous. Lots of meat, the sauce is delicious, and they’ve never forgotten to grill my onions for me.

Went to here today because billys was closed. Very disappointed gyro had half the meat, maybe a teaspoon of sauce. the pita was crunchy and the tomatoes were way over ripe. Still paid a premium price for a sub standard gyro.

The gyros and chicken plate was great. It was fresh and seasoned just right. The chicken was tender, the rice was awesome! The pita was soft and fresh. The gyro was flavorful and fresh. Did I mention the food was fresh, lol. The restaurant was clean and the staff was very friendly.

Their baked dark meat chicken special is a steal at $ 5.75! The chicken is moist, the skin is crispy, the rice and potatoes are seasoned perfectly, and the salad is fresh. Definitely going back!

Came here for lunch/brunch on our recent trip to Chicago area. We tried pretty much all the fish/seafood on the menu and it was terrific. Kids really enjoyed the fish burgers and I really liked the fried shrimp. Wife enjoyed her tilapia as well but thinks it could’ve used a little more flavor. Overall service is fast and everything was fresh. We were the only people in the dining area but did notice a lot of people going through drive-through. Will definetly come back if in Adisson area again

Was in the mood for a chicken breast plate Greek style. Usually I go to Billy’s on Addison Rd or Yorky’s but was on Lake & Rt 53 so I decided to give Stav a try. Wrong decision on my part. Maybe they have other items on menu that taste good but my review is strictly on chicken breast plate I ordered. The chicken was dry and it was thin sliced so I’m surprised that was messed up. You can tell it’s not marinated enough to get any Greek flavor they just douse chicken breast with a bunch of oregano. Rice was watery and I had water bottom of my to go container to confirm that. Greek potato’s were OK nothing special. If your in mood for Chicken Breast Plate don’t go he head to Billy’s. They slice little lines across chicken breast to make sure marinated juice soak in it. Yorky’s in Elmhurst is my 2nd choice.

This must be said… The lemon rice soup is really disgusting! I love soup normally but this was weird and gross and not edible. I can’t believe a restaurant would keep that nastiness as its daily soup staple. It either needs to be redone(to be tasty) or toss it and get another daily soup. The rest of the food I get there is ok. It’s not amazing or remarkable in any way. I work about 5 minutes from this place and I stop in once every few months… and feel eh after eating there so I don’t go back for months.

Ordered delivery from Stav’s due to my friend having a craving for Greek food. She ordered the Grilled Tilapia and I had the Shish-Ka-Bob Beef Plate. As sides I ordered a grape leaf and baklava. I also had Lemon Rice Soup. Delivery was pretty timely… about 25 minutes after placing order. The food from the main dishes were plentiful. My friend enjoyed the tilapia despite wanting to have it fried which wasn’t offered on menu. My beef plate had plenty of beef and rice along with sliced potato pieces to put on my gyro bread. It was all very tasty. The lemon rice soup was okay though I would’ve preferred the lentil. When I ordered the soup with beef plate it didn’t specify which soup you would get. Next time I’ll specify a different soup. Neither my friend nor I liked the grape leaf. I was glad we only ordered the one. I think it would’ve tasted better warm as opposed to cold. The only other place I tried grape leaves was when I dined at Anita’s Kitchen in Ferndale, MI. And they served them nice and warm. The baklava was definitely another highlight. It’s one of those desserts that will give you quite the sugar high from all the layers of honey. The bottom layer is pretty much soaked in it completely. An excellent dessert to have once in a blue moon. The hits far outweigh the misses with the food… hence the 4 stars. Look forward to ordering more from this place.

The fact that I can come here and get a gyro through a drive-thru makes me extremely happy. Who wouldn’t love that! We came here after craving some meats(for a few hours… so we were hungry). We decided to come inside — it is a small place. It reminds me of a few other Mediterranean restaurants in the area — very casual and quaint. We ordered 2 gyros, mozzarella sticks, and cheese fries(don’t judge). I was very happy with my gyro — it came with TONS of meat on it. You definitely get your money’s worth. Overall the place is pretty cheap. There are tons of options — something for everyone on the menu. It’s a little slower than«fast food», which I think it probably a good thing. The service was fast and friendly, nothing to complain about! We enjoyed everything and agreed that we would come back again.

You can call your order ahead and pickup ay the drive through. All their stuff is made to order. I love that they have healthy options. Whenever I’m on a diet, I make a habit of getting the chicken breast wrap with no vinaigrette with tzatziki sauce(cucumber sauce they use for gyros) on the side. I think I calculated the rough calories before and it’s less than a subway sub and a little more hearty. Delicious in my opinion. I’ve had some other dishes from there before, the pork souvlaki and the gyro, decent enough. Their salads are really big and filling! I believe they deliver, but it’s a bit too expensive a delivery charge in my opinion. I used to order for lunch until they raised the delivery price. While I understand the necessity in the rough economic times… the times are tough on me too and I just couldn’t justify paying so much for lunch. PB&J is a poor substitute for Stav’s, but you gotta do what you gotta do!
