SpringHill Suites Dallas Addison/Quorum Drive

Right behind the Hyatt house in Addison which is my favorite place. Breakfast was not good, pretty standard for your hotel breakfast. Hyatt house has a better selection. Rooms are very small and you have to climb over the sofa bed if you want get a glass of water in the middle of the night.

— Clean gym with a weight rack… they even offered disposable headphones!
— Walking distance from tons of restaurants like Kenny’s Wood Fired Grill, Ida Claire, Buffalo Wild Wings, among many others on Belt Line!
— Conference rooms and printers are available
— No free parking
— Tons of Über drivers are around
— Not far from uptown! Good place to be location-​wise

— Very slow elevators
— Bathroom didn’t look as clean as it could be
— Bathroom set-​up was a bit odd… I had to walk over to get toilet paper… but then again, my arms are short

Stayed here because our usual place was full on this visit. The hotel was clean and comfortable. It was only one night so I didn’t hit all of the amenities but the location is good and staff was friendly. I give it 3 stars vs 4 because I do think it is a tad pricey for what it offers.

I was kind of disappointed in my experience at this particular property. Now we’ve had good experience at other Springhill Suites. Especially in Waco but I found this place lacking in several departments. For one thing the hotel had booked a couple of large groups this past weekend and maybe that explained a lot of the issues for us but one of my biggest complaints was our room. When we first walked in the room we felt the AC was not working properly. Now the thermostat on the wall confused me because it did not seem to work or do anything. Now when we messed with some of the controls on the actual unit in the room we had to actually manually set the fan to get it to start cooling the room which seemed to take forever.
Also the sink in the bathroom was not draining properly… it’s kind of gross having to spit your mouthwash into a sink of water that took it seemed forever to drain. Now my wife complained about it to the front desk and was told it would be taken care of but it never was.
Now the breakfast the next morning was a zoo! Because of the two large groups that were booked there was no place to sit and also the food did not seem to be replenished as quickly as you would wish with as many people were there. I never had this experience with the Marriott chain before but I felt kind of shortchanged by my experience this weekend! And according to my wife, when she brought up some of the issues with the front desk person her response was you need to talk to the manager. That was a first time experience as well!
Needless to say I felt for the money that I spent I did not get my normally stellar service with this chain and would be quite hesitant to stay at this particular property until all those issues are addressed.
Nonetheless, the weekend was saved by the presence of good friends who stayed at the same place and watching Sweet Charity at the Water Tower Theatre which was within walking distance. That was the nice part! The location was perfect in that regard.
Work on your customer service skills and be more proactive as far as addressing things that don’t work properly in the room and I would bump up the rating. But until then… I have gotten much more of a bang for my buck from other places!
Oh also… beware of photos online. The actual pool they have on site is so small! My kid was looking forward to swimming but it was nothing more than a tiny trench. I have never seen a pool that small. Sheesh!

I stayed in this location last week. What struck me the most were two things: one the complete unfriendliness of staff and the horrendous smell of paint. I stayed for three days and never once when I left at the beginning of the day and came back in late afternoon was ever greeted by somebody at the front desk. In some ways, that could be seen as a good thing for privacy. However, staying there multiple days and having no sense of hospitality does not make me want to come back. Bad news, is I’m already staying there again this whole week! Already had the reservation.
The hotel is working on the facilities and so they have signs asking them to pardon their progress. The paint smell particularly on the second floor where I was staying was almost unbearable.
Everything else was fine: the mattress, the room, the shower, even the breakfast.
update: Forgot to mention that Michael the evening guy is quite friendly.
update 2: Apparently Unilocal works. Received a very explicit, very direct, «good morning» and later «have a good day» from front desk this morning. Alas, I saith too much and am not anonymous anymore… Oh well, my proverbial bed.

We had 2 rooms and there was NO PARKING told to find a parking in a different hotel and walk back to hotel and take a chance of being towed. Mean while has truck with trailer taking up 5 spaces, handicap spots taken without tags. Told US to call cops to get them towed that they couldn’t do it. Would not even pay for cab or arrange transportation back to hotel from having to walk back from parking at another locations.

Good — friendly service, large room & edible breakfast food.
Bad — i could hear everything including the kids running on the floor above me and the pounding of the backdoor as people walked out without their roomkeys and then needed to get back in. The bathroom was set up oddly with the toilet uncomfortably close to the tub with the tp a long reach on the far wall. There was plenty of space to do this right so I am not sure why they used this arrangement
Ugly — a big ball of brown hair was right in front of the bathroom on the carpet. I am not sure how this could have been missed by housekeeping if they were trying at all. It also made me question the cleanliness of the rest of the room. Wifi was super slow.
I think that I will stick to the courtyards or regular marriots in the future.

Loved it! Great set up for business travel. Colors and room set up very cozy and relaxing. Everything is very clean. Staff is very pleasant and willing to make your stay as pleasing as possible. Will definitely stay here again if I visit Dallas. Close to TONS of restaurants!

SpringHill is a nice, clean hotel that usually comes with a budget price tag. This location is pretty similar to other SpringHill suites we have stayed at.
I had a small issue with my reservations and the front desk manager was very helpful and resolved it quickly and efficiently. One issue that wasn’t resolved, we were gone all day and returned to find our room door slightly ajar. The room had been made up by housekeeping while we were gone so they must have been careless in not closing it. I reported it to the front desk but there was not a manager on duty at the time and we never received any followup from the management which was a bit disappointing. Fortunately we did not notice any missing items.

I normally stay at Homewood Suites but was persuaded to stay where most of the team was staying… And I didn’t even interact with my team at the hotel. What a waste my my time and experience.
There is however a shuttle van available to local businesses if you didn’t get a car rental.
Rooms are clean. Microwave and mini fridge available. Watch out for the 1 liter water on the counter. It’s not complementary. Unlike Homewood Suites where there was a hand written welcome note, free bottled water and cookies in your room when you arrive. Ok. Not here at SpringHills.
So many Inns, Suites, and Hotels to choose from… Perhaps from a price point the value is here at SpringHills.

Super clean! Huge room! Fantastic breakfast! Awesome staff! Great rate! We came to town for the State Fair and had a fantastic time. The hotel is located right off of what is described as restaurant row and the description is correct. Any type of food you want you can find. So very pleased with our experience would highly recommend! Thank you!

This is a great facility located near everything in Addison. Cheerful helpful staff and no suprises during my stay.

Clean, attractive decorating and quiet. Perfect place to stay while traveling through the area with 3 children. We appreciated the double beds and foldout couch so everyone had a comfy place to sleep. The morning breakfast spread was great – cereal, oatmeal with all the fixings, eggs also with toppings, fruit, drinks, and waffles in the shape of Texas made by a staff member. Only compliant I’d have is the small size of the bathroom sink – not enough room for all of my products, but I don’t travel light!

Elevators broke, no fans in the restrooms, so smelly after use, breakfast was awesome,

Stayed here for a week in December 2012. Room was clean and everything was perfect. This place seems new — NOT «run down» at all. It’s walking distance to many restaurants. The staff were nice. FREE high speed internet in the room. A good experience overall.

This SHS qualifies for the most run down SHS I have stayed at, traveling every week. The room is so small it was difficult to put my luggage on the luggage rack and set it anywhere in the room. Internet was unbearably slow and intermittent. The towels smelled like they were washed with something burnt, it was disgusting.

We just spent 5 days in the Dallas/​Addison area and had a wonderful stay at SpringHill Suites. It is all that the previous reviewer said. Clean, convenient, well appointed, and centrally located. The décor in the room that we stayed in was modern and had a european (Swedish a la IKEA) look. This is a good hotel for the North Dallas area. By the way, there are LOTS of place to eat near by. Hotel Staff are attentive and professional. Thanks for a good stay, we will be back.

We have stayed here a handful of times when traveling to Dallas.
It is centrally located near Addison bars and restaurants, even within walking distance if you chose.
The Galleria is also super close.
You have awesome access to the Dart Rail and the Tollway so driving south to 635 or North to Plano or Frisco is a breeze.
The area and the hotel are clean and safe.
We had one particularly nice stay here in which I made sure to write the manager a nice email. The next time that we checked in, about 6 weeks later, we had a welcome basket in our room with wine and fun goodies! The staff here are great and remember repeat travelers.
With other comparable hotels in the Addison area though, we do often look around for a deal and stay at one of a handful of properties.

Clean, quiet, attractive. We stayed here in early August 2010 and would gladly return. The continental breakfast was not especially remarkable but was enjoyable. Easy access to and from I-​635. Recommended.
