Michael’s Boot & Shoe Repair

Took my boots in to have the zipper fixed. Reasonable price. The new zipper did not last after putting them on the second time but when I went back to get them fixed, the owner was so nice about it and fixed them again for me that week. I gave them 5 stars because eof the great customer service and because of the hard to repair boot. He did tell me from the beginning he was concerned about the zipper and needing to replace the whole line.

My (old!) favorite pair of suede booties needed a new pair of caps. There was also a piece of suede coming off the back of the heel. He was able to replace the caps and glue the suede back down for under $ 13. When I picked up the shoes, they also looked refreshed. Great service!

I wish I’d remembered to take before photos, so to anyone thinking of having their leather shoes refinished here or anywhere else, please remember to do that! Otherwise, you’ll have no proof of damage if it occurs. I brought my most treasured and once expensive leather boots to Michael’s asking if all the scuffs could be removed, especially in the toe area. He inspected them and also suggested that he cut & replace the tip of the sole to make them last longer. For the refinishing of the entire boot to remove scuffs and the tip of the sole to be replaced, he quoted me just under $ 45 with a pick-​up time of 4 business days, to which I agreed. Today, when I went to pick them up, he seemed to have forgotten all about the toe tip sole replacement, as he had only refinished the leather. He suggested the sole fix at the toe tip again, to which I said I thought we’d already agreed to do that, but I didn’t want to leave the boots for another week. I just said «maybe I’ll bring them back to do that». He charged me $ 20 for the work that was done. The boots looked a lot better and most of the scuffs were removed with a very good color match, however, there was just some damage that I guess couldn’t be fixed. The reason for my one star review isn’t just because I waited 4 days for basically a shoe shine, though. After I got back in my car and drove away, something caught my eye that I hadn’t noticed in the shop. There was a hole in the leather on the inside of one of my boots near the top of the shaft that absolutely was not there when I dropped them off! I have no idea how to fix this so that it doesn’t grow bigger, but I certainly won’t be returning here.

I should have taken Before and After pictures so I could show whoever is reading this how great of a job Michael did on my dress shoes. He refinished a pair shoes I almost threw it away due to scratches and residues — the shoes are now like-​new. I’m very pleased and will definitely bring more shoes back here.

They solved a problem I didn’t even know could be solved with a pair of shoes that I probably paid too much for. Not only that, but the fix was done while I waited. So glad I discovered this place!

I’m new to the area and needed one of my heels to be repaired. At first i thought the guy was rude because he didn’t talk much but he’s work was excellent and he didn’t charge me for one of the services he provided. Did I mention my repair was done under 5 mn while I waited? I’m a customer for life.

What a find! Dropped off a $ 110 pair of black patten leather Vince Camuto heels, and a pair of mens Kenneth Cole dress shoes…$ 35 & 5 days later, we have 2 brand new looking pair of shoes! The heels needed new tips and a good cleaning, the men’s shoes needed glue removed from a «do-​it-​yourself» repair job gone bad and the soles reattached, and a good polishing. excellent work, good prices, and great customer service — you can’t ask for much more!

I used them for the first time this week. The owner is very pleasant and it’s obvious he takes his business serious. He repaired a pair 10 year old Johnston Murphy dress shoes and polished them, making them look better than they have in years. His pricing is very reasonable. I will be recommending him to all my friends.

After reading all those good reviews, I decided to take my Michael Kors shoes, boots & Nine West pump for repair.
A long story make it short, I went by to pick it up when he told me to then the shoes weren’t ready. So I went back few days later & found out they marked/​damaged the shoes. I pointed out why they over sanded the area where you can see the black mark on tan color sole, his answer was I should told him how I want the shoes to be repaired. I demanded they repair the damage they caused so I ended up leaving without my shoes & went back to pick it up. After 3 trips to this place, at the end I was able to remove cleaning shoes charge due to make me coming back twice. The owner was kind enough to remove that charge but I gave up pointing out the area they made didn’t repair.
I really don’t want to bad mouth about this place but all I can say is… I will not take my shoes back there again.

Excellent work at a fair price. I had the soles re-​glued on a good pair of Sperry’s and was charged only $ 18.00. I’ve had him re-​sole and new heels put on a pair of Justin’s. good as new. Cheaper too. I’ll go back.

I had a few pairs of «tow up» shoes I needed to get fixed but haven’t found a shoe repair place to give my loyalty to. I turned to Unilocal for advice and noticed Michael’s received glowing reviews and it was kind of on my way home from work. I dropped off a pair of boots and heels on a Monday and kept my fingers crossed they would turn out ok. We had a little mix up with the pickup day, but I ended up getting the shoes back within a week and they were in excellent condition. Michael even polished the scratches on my boots! It ended up being $ 24 total for both pairs of shoes, which I thought was pretty good. Some places charge a lot more for boot repair. I plan to take the rest of my ghetto shoe collection to Michael’s in the near future!

They are my go-​to for any shoe repairs. They always to a great job and have them ready on time. Prices are reasonable!

I’ve taken different pairs of shoes on two different occasions to Michael’s and had two different experiences.
The first was a pair of leather pumps that needed a new heel and a cleaning along with some mens leather shoes that needed shaping and cleaning.
It took three days and 21 dollars later, I had two pairs of brand-​new looking shoes.
The second time, I took a pair of leather boots with a high heel that had broken. They were due to be finished four days after I dropped them off but when I returned, they were not ready. I came back the next week, and they were not ready. Michael finally offered to call when they were finished. He said the pin in the heel was not in one piece and he was working to rebuild it. I told him that if it was not possible to repair, to please let me know, because I didn’t want to pay for a pair of shoes that I couldn’t wear, and I wanted to buy a new pair of boots. He said he would be able to repair them and at a reasonable cost.
Finally, two weeks later, he called and had finished the repair.
The boots look great, though they didn’t shine like the first two pairs.
Total repair cost was $ 30 which was much less than a new pair of boots!
I am pleased with the pricing and the turnaround. If you have a pair of leather shoes that you just can’t part with, see if Michael can help!

I had 2 of my favorite shoes that needed some work. I wear them all the time and I wanted to continue to keep wearing them. I definitely didn’t want to have to buy new shoes because what’s the point of that? If you can fix whatever’s wrong with it and it’s only a couple of bucks, why not ~ So I had to find a place that would do great work and keep me in my favorite shoes.
I did a bit of searching via Unilocal and I had a couple of places bookmarked, but I ultimately decided on Michael’s Shoe Repair. Why you say? I don’t know… maybe an inkling that this place would do great work. I brought in my black CK heels and my gold Franco Sarto wedge sandals… I don’t know if I’m going to explain this correctly, but I’ll give it my best shot.
1. My black CK heels needed the very bottom of the heel replaced because it kept sqeaking when I wrote it on carpet. I was bummed because everything I’d wear em at work, I’d feel a little embarassed because I was squeaking all over the place! These shoes are so darn comfortable and I wear em with anything — it’s like that one black dress you always turn to when you have NOTHING to wear… well these are my black shoes that I always turn to… I HAD to get them fixed! Who knows if I were to buy a new pair they would be as great and comfortable an awesome as my CK heels?!? I didn’t want to take the chance so I had to get em fixed… thank goodness Michael was able to fix it for about $ 9 :) [I’m wearing them today and they’re awesome. NO more squeaking!!!]
2. My gold Franco Sarto wedge sandals are my go to sandals when I want to be casual, but still be a little dressy and have some height (yes, I’m short so I love anything with height!). The material that has the brand name on it was coming off so I had to get that re-​stitched. Let me tell you when you’re wearing awesome shoes and there’s something coming off, it sure doesn’t look so hot… For only $ 4 he was able to stich it back up and look brand new!
I knew I should have taken pictures to show y’all what great work Michael did, but take it from me… he’s great! I also brought in the shoes on Friday and had them ready by Tuesday. he said he could have em done by Monday but I wasn’t in a super big rish. I just wanted to make sure he had PLENTY of time with no rush to work on my shoes and make ‘em brand new again~ And as Katherine C. said, he does have great prices!

So far so good. A friend and I have both used this place to repair shoes, and the prices were ok (not great but OK).

Same-​day service to restitch soles and replace heels! This is now our go-​to place for shoe repair.

Someone at Nordstrom referred us to Michael’s Shoe Repair and what a lifesaver this place has been! I’ve brought in a few pairs of pumps that I’ve worn down the heel to the point you can see and hear the metal when walking. It only costs $ 8 for Michael to cap the heel, and you’re good to go for awhile! Much cheaper than buying another pair of pumps for at least 6x the price of the repair. My friend in Houston says she pays around $ 12 – 15 at her shoe repair place, so he’s got great prices.
I also brought in a pair of boots with pretty beat up heels — I was worried he’d have to figure out some way to replace the heel completely, but he figured out how to cap them instead. He was even the one to suggest capping the heels for $ 8 instead of paying $ 20+ to cover the chipped parts.
He also resoles, resizes, and shines shoes, and works with purses as well. Very reliable and always has your repairs ready for you in 2 or so days.
