My wife and just moved only about 6 blocks away. Our crew was Ken, Danny and Billy. They were outstanding, very professional and made the move tolerable, as moving already is unbearable. They were way faster then what was quoted also. This is our 4^th move in 8 years and I only wish we found them sooner. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

I requested a quote on a 2-​bedroom move from Elgin to Carol Stream on the following Saturday. Bonnie was very friendly and after I answered questions about the contents of the move, she gave me a quote: 3-​hour minimum, 3 movers @$ 120 hour = $ 360 plus $ 120 for truck =$ 480.
Later that day, I was emailed a work order from JP: It showed 4 hours, not 3, (extra $ 120), plus shrink wrap charge ($ 30), for a total of $ 150 more ($ 630 versus $ 480 quoted). Bonnie stated that those charges were always included. I then asked her to cancel the move, since that was more than I cared to pay. Bonnie remained polite and professional throughout and that same day she put through a refund of $ 50. Kudos to Bonnie for a nice attitude and quick action.
I feel this was an honest misunderstanding, but the entire charge should be discussed before booking, not after. For what it’s worth, I called and booked another company and these charges were all included in their quote — for the same amount ($ 480).

J&P Moving Services did a great job with our moving and beat their estimate by a couple of hours and saved us money! The guys were nice, friendly and courteous, making a stressful time more tolerable. I can highly recommend them.

We finalized a move with J&P just recently, where we had to move out of a town home, close on its sale, and move into our new home all in one day. These guys are simply amazing. We packed our two bedroom townhome with 4 men in two hours and 15 minutes. We had a couple living room sets, and over 50 boxes of stuff.
Unloading was extremely fast and very carefully done. The crew was friendly and very organized which made our move stress free incredibly.
Certainly they are the best and would recommend them to anyone.

Good hard working dudes and they get the job done with no damages. Cost is a little pricey, but they take care of you.

Used J&P for moving a large armoire from my 2^nd floor to my basement. During the quote process they asked for specific information so they could get the quote right. That went a long way with me. When we bought the armoire the delivery guys really struggled getting it up my stairs and marked up my walls. I just got the hardwood stairs refinished and was concerned. Them wanting to know dimensions and how many turns in the stairs showed they wanted to know what they were getting into and not just throwing out a quote like other places did when I called.
They got to my house right on time. I can’t believe how fast and smooth they got the armoire down the stairs. This was a big one piece armoire that was very heavy. I thought it was going to be stuck on my 2^nd floor forever. The 2 men that came (sorry I don’t remember their names) were friendly and professional. Would definitely recommend them.

I used their service today and am extremely pleased with the move. They got me on their schedule in 3 days time which was great for me as most other companies seem to have a wait of at least ten days or so. The three guys who came in were very efficient, quick, friendly and made no fuss about anything. I would definitely use their service again particularly at the prices they offer.

Very professional moving company. Bonnie was very thorough with the estimate, and the movers were first rate… very polite, efficient and careful with my belongings. Nothing was damaged at all. I would highly recommend this company.

I did a lot of research on movers and I’m so glad that I chose J&P moving. I was worried because my initial quote seemed a little high to me, however Pete who quoted the move explained that this was only an estimate and they tend to over estimate so that there are no surprises on moving day. The day of the move Ken and his crew were awesome. They really hustled getting everything out of our apartment. They made it to our new home quickly and unloaded. They were very cautious with our furniture and respectful of our new home. All in all it went great and the move came in almost 2 hours under the quoted time. If I ever move again I will definitely be using J&P again.

We moved my mother n law from her home last week to an independent living community. Bonnie in the office was very helpful and made sure all the insurance info that was needed was sent over the facility ASAP. The men who helped move, Brian, Dave and Tyler were very careful with everything and did a great job & got everything delivered and set up within the time we were quoted. Overall it was a very good experience and I would recommend them highly. Thank you J&P movers!

We just moved on the 16^th of June 2014 and the guys did an OUTSTANDING job!
They showed up early, introduced themselves, assessed the situation and had a flawless execution to the move.
These guys busted their butts and went well above and beyond our expectations, especially on a very hot humid day.

These dudes were FUCKING awesome! Super respectful of my belongings as well as my old AND new home! They were efficient and friendly. I was pleased and would definitely use them again. They were able to get me on the schedule with 3 days notice, which was unreal!

I am soooooo happy that I chose J&P Moving Services. Right from the initial contact at the office, I knew it was a good choice. The office ladies that I worked with were very attentive and thorough. They were pleasant with every call I placed. (I like concistency) My crew of guys were Ken, Nick and Imil and they were awsome! These guys were on time, professional, pleasant and focused on their task. The move went smooth and quick. I will certainly use these guys again without hesitation.

Pete West and Bonnie did an amazing job on two moves for us this past November and again this past January. We went with J & P because Pete responded to every post on Unilocal and addressed any concerns other reviewers posted personally. We also chose them because their estimate was very comprehensive and fair. Their estimates ended up being exactly what we needed on our moving days. Anthony their truck packer was amazing. Our stuff fit exactly into the trucks Bonnie recommended for us. The crews they sent were amazing. They were clean, professional, on time, and knew how to move odd sized pieces. The crews had the equipment they needed to move our stuff carefully and quickly. We have moved with movers 3 other times with other companies and have not been as happy as we were with J & P. We’d definitely use them again!

J&P Moving Services make the horrible task of moving bearable. Moving makes me want to gouge my eyes out and yet, it is something that must be done from time to time. It started out great from the beginning. I was referred to this company by a friend who has used them before and highly endorsed them. I called and spoke with Bonnie. She is knowledgeable, helpful and energetic. She explained the process, the timeline and after a LOT of questions got back to me by email (which I LOVED) with their estimate. About a week before the move I was sent an inventory list to help get a better idea of the size of the move. This list was more helpful for me than for them as I got a grip on what was ultimately moving, being sold, donated or discarded. When I took the inventory I found out I had approximately 200 boxes, I submitted it to J&P Moving Services and a few hours later I received a call from Bonnie. We talked about the items and our need for additional movers and a second truck than previously planned for. I am so glad that we talked because I think that is what made the move go well.

MOVE DAY — The movers were scheduled to arrive between 9:30 and 10:00 AM. Brian the head mover, called to say they were on their way and arrived at 9:45 AM. Cool. Brian and his staff were professional and took a walk through the house, basement, yard and garage. I signed on the dotted line and the move began. Brian and his crew were insane! Brian was in the truck packing everything in with the ease of a Tetris gamer. The crew padded, wrapped and moved expensive dressers, tables, cabinets and armoires. They also padded and wrapped inexpensive furniture (Ikea and Target) in the same fashion. Nice. They lifted couches, tables, beds, frames, desks and dressers seamlessly and effortlessly. They worked hard from beginning to end. They maneuvered big pieces of furniture through questionable spaces without doubting their expertise. There was no cussing or profanity because they were professionals who knew what they were doing. I saw one of the guys stack a dresser on his back and down 2 flights of stairs like nothing. These guys are moving Sherpa’s! They took our beds apart and yep, you guessed it, put them back together in our new apartment. We were thankful for it that evening.
Our move was BIG, moving from a house (basement, 2 floors, yard and garage) to a 2^nd floor bi-​level apartment. We had approximately 200 boxes, 4 very large and heavy mirrors, paintings, prints and flat screen TV’s. Everything arrived unscathed. Did I mention that the crew was professional, polite and efficient? They forecasted 5 – 8 hours for the move and completed it in 7 hours. The amount that was quoted is what we paid. We tipped the guys, thanked each of them there and again in the evening when we crashed our weary bones down to sleep.
I am extremely impressed with the efficiency and attention to detail that they all demonstrated. I was worried that they were going to be tired, that the furniture would not fit out or in, that things would be broken, lost or scratched. I did not need to worry. Nothing was broken, nothing was damaged and it has been 4 days and we are still singing their praises with every box we open unharmed. J&P Moving Services is definitely a company I recommend and will use again.

I just utilized J and P Moving. I got three young guys who were pretty fast. One stayed on the truck, loaded and organized and two brought my belongings from the house onto the truck or from the truck into the house. Basic good system. No hidden fees no real surprises.
Here are the cons/​areas of improvement
1. When the first came in they tracked a lot of mud and dirt into the place I was moving out of– they then put down mats and proceeded to forget them in my house. Luckily I grabbed them as they were pulling out of my driveway.
2. We said no to the wardrobe boxes as we didn’t want to pay any additional fees. It wasn’t until the truck was half full that one of them told us we get two wardrobe boxes included in the price– but at that point they were so buried in the back that they would not be able to get them.
3. As with all movers you have to keep an eye on them. I caught the same guy on the phone twice– when I joked around with him and alluded to him to get off the phone he told me he was talking to his boss but he answered the phone «What up cuz» so I don’t think he was.
Here are some pros/​areas of praise
1. Pete was very nice and professional and was great with follow up.
2. Bonnie was also very nice– called the day before to confirm the move as I completely forgot to do this– because of course I was packing.
3. The three movers put everything I wanted where I asked with little to no problems.
4. Went over the pricing before the move started and after it was completed.
5. They have to be great because I recommended them to my sister– so I can recommend them to you.

These guys are detailed, efficient and quick, I only wish I found them sooner.
Everything that was not boxed was wrapped quickly and all of my furniture and fragile items were handled without a scratch. They worked hard to make my move as quick and seamless as possible. They also accommodated my last minute request to bring an additional appliance down 3 flights of stairs with no complaints.
Thanks to J&P my move was stress free and I highly recommend them for your future moving needs.

I used these guys after having multiple problems with Golan Movers to unload a truck for us.
They sent 3 guys who were on time, spoke English, worked hard and were very well mannered and efficient.
The cost was exactly what they said it would be. No hidden charges. The cost was about half of what Golan was charging me.
I will definitely use them again when I move the rest of my furniture from Texas.

Used J&P movers at the suggestion of my sister who recommended them. I spoke with Bonnie and she was very helpful. The move went smoothly and the moving guys were top notch. There was no bait and switch with cost and we were very pleased with the first part of the experience. I wished it had ended there.
But 2 pieces of my furniture were quite damaged and that started a chain of events that took 6 months to resolve. First I had to fill out a claim form and that took effort to get from Bonnie. I both called and used email so I had a paper trail. Bonnie told me that it would take 90 days to hear back but I NEVER did. I kept following up and 120+ days later I needed to fill out another form which she thought she had sent me. I filled out that form (to authorize the amount of the claim) and sent it back via email. I was told that I would have the check in seven days… but over a month later and 2 phone calls and 3 emails, I still didn’t have a check. She said her boss was away on vacation and I would have the check in two weeks. After still not having received the claim, I casually mentioned something to my sister who called Bonnie. 2 days later I had a check in my hand.
Unfortunately, most people do not have a sister that can make the call. I am so turned off to this company that I would never recommend them. Six months to receive a claim is dreadful — shame on them.
