History
Established in 2013.
The history of the practice actually begins well before 2013 when well-loved Dr. Gerald Fogarty decided to move his family practice from Farmer’s Branch to Addison in the early 1990s. He settled on the Colonnade Building — then and now still a very unique location for a primary care office!
Around 2009, Dr. Fogarty decided to sell his established practice to Texas Health Physicians Group (a part of Texas Health Resources). Drs. Shashi Mittal and Derek Farley carried the torch. The name changed from Fogarty Family Medicine to Addison Family Medicine Associates. About 2011, Dr. Farley left to pursue a different practice location and Dr. Mittal continued in practice by herself until July 2013 when she moved to San Antonio.
Meanwhile, Dr. Robert Duhaney was with a Texas Health affiliated group practice (since 2008) on Walnut Hill Lane and was asked to continue providing excellent care to the Addison community. In August 2013 Internal Medicine of Addison was born!

As a general internist, Dr. Robert Duhaney sees patients 16 an older. I work with a talented nurse practitioner Laura Lawrence as well. Our practice covers a wide range of healthcare needs from colds and flu, physicals, well woman exams, men’s health, to chronic disease management. We want to get to know you and help you make informed health decisions. We can often provide same day or next day appointments and are typically accessible between visits by phone or online patient portal. Good health begins here!
Dr. Duhaney completed his undergraduate training at the University of Florida (UF). For his medical training, Dr. Duhaney graduated from Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia in 2005 and completed his residency at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center in Baltimore, Maryland in 2008.
Dr. Duhaney is on staff at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas and Plano. He has two sons and a daughter with his beautiful wife Kelli. They are active at their church.
