Finding a new auto shop is always a nightmare, especially as a female. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been ripped off or have been attempted to be ripped off– NOT HERE!
The place is a little hidden and simple but extremely fair. I came in first thing in the morning and met with Beverly, very sweet. They will offer you a ride as long as you have a ride back home!
I received a call about 2 hours later with the diagnosis part by part and labor included. Very reasonable! My car was out and finished by 5pm!
She also mentioned something that would be needing repairs later but stressed to me that I didn’t need to do it immediately. Wait, she didn’t try to up sell me? That’s incredible. She also told me the price so that when it happens to be prepared to pay– I’ll prob go around and get estimates just to check but I have to say, these are honest folk. Good hearted people and I highly recommend coming here!

I had to get my heater fixed because of this weather. Lucky, Addison automotive shop was there to fix my heater and ac. I’m very thankfully to them. They are the experts. I will definitely come the next time.

Beverly is honest and does her due diligence every time. This place will make the effort to save you money before they do major work on your car. I’ve used these guys on three different occasions and they are by far the most reliable. If you are having car issues, be sure to give these guys your trust.

This is a classic Mom and Pop shop. They will always try to save you money as if it was there own and will always try to fix your vehicle with minimal cost. I own a fussy little Audi and they’ve become expert at keeping it happy for about the same cost as our Toyota Highlander which they also look after. They are probably not as efficient as a specialized shop and they can get backed up, probably because of write-​ups like these (so I did hesitate to write it) but they have been doing a consistently good job for me for several years now. I trust them and their work.

An honest mechanic is hard to find and when you do, you need to hold on to them. I took my truck to them today and told them I needed my front brake pads replaced. I had been told by a dealership recently that I would need them done soon. Long story short, they called me a few hours later and said my pads looked ok and would last a while longer, and just charged me for the oil change I had also asked for. They could have easily resurfaced my rotors and replaced my brake pads as I had thought was needed and made a quick couple hundred bucks and I would have never known the difference. That kind of integrity ensures I’ll be back as a customer.

I will never ever return. These people are nice, but they had absolutely no idea what they were doing. Couldn’t diagnose a simple problem (but charged me $ 50), didn’t do work they charged me for ($ 470), and broke things I didn’t ask them to fix costing me another $ 1,200.
Took my Flex here twice and they couldn’t figure out the problem. But charged me nonetheless. I also dropped off my Mercedes. They were asked to change a bushing. Quoted me $ 270. Gave the go ahead, showed up to pay, and it was $ 470 because they didn’t remember to add labor. Got in the car and the steering wheel was no longer straight. It now was aligned to almost 930 (instead of straight up at 12 o clock) and pulled HARD to the right. Called as I drove off and they said they don’t do alignments on foreign cars. Went to the Mercedes dealership a few days later and they had to charge me $ 1,200 to fix the mistakes of these guys. Back to the Flex. Took that to the dealer and they told me I was lucky to get there when I did because the front axle was BROKEN and they couldn’t believe anyone could possibly miss it. $ 600 more. In any case, cars are fixed and I and my wife are safe. I will never ever return.

Addison Automotive has taken care of 3 generations of our familys’ vehicles for over 25 years. Terry and Beverly are top notch, and we trust them completely to keep us safe and sound. While we restore various vehicles, we would only trust our day to day vehicles to their care. Their excellent preventive maintenance has kept us safe, and has never once left us stranded with a broken car.

Found this place through Unilocal reviews, and was not disappointed. I had received a very high quote for repairs from another auto shop, and came here with hopes I would get good service at a more reasonable price. I ended up paying less than HALF what another place quoted me (saved about $ 1300), and service was incredible. I took my car in in the morning, it was ready for pick up by EOD, and has worked wonderfully ever since. After that, I started coming to this place for every service issue I had — they are fast, extremely reasonable, trustworthy, up front about pricing, and have wonderful customer service. I would recommend this place to anyone, and will continue to go here for all my auto repair needs.

Thought I needed a positive battery cable. Called with price questions and after realizing it would run $ 160 for the part; $ 300 total; Beverly asked me to bring in the car so they could look at it to see if $ 300 was really necessary. Brought it in and they were able to fix the issue for $ 39 (no cable). Firestone had quoted me $ 1200 to $ 1400. ($ 150 for a rebuilt cable.) This company won my trust. I’m going to them with issues. Thanks for the great service! Very friendly!!!

My son took his Ford F150 here because they shot straight on the phone and the reviews on Unilocal were high.
He and I were impressed. They not only quickly fixed the problem, they even fixed a rattle in his door for no charge. They charged what they quoted and were less expensive than quotes for the same job at other places.
Nice to find an affordable, honest mechanic in town.

Like most people, I’m a bit skeptical of automotive repair shops. Since I don’t know very much about car mechanics, I often feel like I’m being taken advantage of. So, I asked around and Addison Automotive Service was highly recommended to me. I used them about three months ago for some substantial fixes on my SUV and have waited until now to write the review to make sure their work was quality.
My vehicle is running great and all of the the issues they fixed were done in a quality manner. They are also very friendly and honest. I highly recommend this place, and will continue to use them.

I had to edit my review bc though they gave great customer service, they failed to correctly diagnose my car even after having to bring it back in a second time.
They also took over 5 days each time they had my car.
Beverly is super sweet and eager to help you get back in your car so that was awesome. I just think that if you have a foreign car its best to stick with foreign car specialists.

I tried replacing my son’s roommate battery on Sunday. When i was taking the old battery cable off i broke the connector. They just moved to Addison and we didn’t know of a honest mechanic in the area. Went to Unilocal and saw positive reviews so we had it towed to Terry at Addison Automotive. The total charge was $ 48 for labor, two new battery cables and tax! I don’t ever remember taking a car to a mechanic and getting out for under $ 100!

I was referred by a local bartender… needed a belt tensioner, the cost at Auto Zone $ 32.99, Bev And Terry charged me $ 72.52! That’s it, all I needed, but they also charged me for the Serpentine Belt, that I didn’t need, at a whopping price of $ 63.90, also at Auto Zone for only $ 14.99! Did I mention the towing fee for 2.1 miles? $ 100? I asked my my trusty mechanic here in Arlington what I should have paid and he told me $ 130 for the fix and $ 40 for the tow… that’s $ 170…drum roll… I paid $ 347.82…Addison Automotive… I WILL relate this to all of my customers. You ripped off a potential new customer and what could have been a great referral for your business

This shop is run by an honest, compassionate family who is hard working and looks out for it’s customers.
I had a check engine light, and a shuttering engine feeling on my old car. I found Addison Automotive on Unilocal,and chose it mostly because it was the closest place to my apartment. I am so glad I did. I dropped my car off as soon as they opened, got a call with an estimate around 10, got a call that the repair was complete around 3, and pick up my car after work when I arrived at the shop by bus around 6. The wife was the one who called with the estimate, the husband is the one who did most of the work as far as I knew, and the son is the one who called to tell me it was ready. They discovered multiple things wrong with the car other than what I had brought it in for, but they were honest and let me know which things weren’t an emergency. With an old car like mine there’s bound to be many things wrong with any time you take it in. I wound up deciding to only have repaired the issue I came in with, and they didn’t try to sell me on getting anything else done.
The cost was average for what you would expect in DFW ($ 95/​hour for labor) but the customer service and honesty are what will keep me coming back. I was particularly appreciative that they made an exception and found a way for me to pay them and then let me pick up the car after closing, knowing that I had to get to work by bus and would have to get back to the shop the same way.
As a single, young woman, it can be intimidating to get car repairs done. Fortunately, I have a father who can diagnose car repairs over the phone, just can’t drive the hundreds of miles to come fix it, so I know when I’m being cheated or not. At Addison Automotive, there is no fear.

This is a super find — I have been going to them for years. What I like about them most is that they try to save you money by doing the least costly repair first. It is truly a Mom and Pop shop and Bev is awesome. They are extremely fair. I have bought several used cars and when I find one that I like I always let them check it out before I make an offer — I have never been disappointed.

I didn’t know I could love a garage, but boy do I love this one! It’s literally a Mom and Pop Shop. The owners are fair and honest folks who have saved me money and fixed up my Subaru (over 100k miles) several times. And I don’t mind waiting while they change my oil, because Gracie, the grey velvety cat that’s basically the mascot, keeps me company.
