The Adamstown Inns & Cottages specializes in luxury accommodations in the heart of Pennsylvania Dutch Country. The Bed and Breakfast is located 20 miles north of Lancaster City in the small town of Adamstown. We are surround by the Pa Amish as well as dozens of antique shops. Known at the Antique District of Lancaster County, Adamstown is a great place to stop, unwind and enjoy the simple pleasures of life. Our Bed and Breakfast, the Amethyst Inn, has 6 bedrooms all with gas-​log fireplaces and whirlpool Jacuzzi Tubs. Some rooms feature multi-​jetted massage showers, steam showers, and balconies.

We also specialize in family travel with our vacation rentals. We have a large 5 bedroom vacation home that will sleep up to 12 guest. Great for family reunions and golf getaways. The Firefly and Dragonfly cottages are also located in Adamstown, where guest can enjoy and quite getaway with friends or family. All cottages and cabins accept children and pets.

History

Established in 1989.

The Bermans purchased the Adamstown Inn in 1988. After seven months of extensive remodeling and renovating, the Adamstown Inn opened for business in 1989.

In response to an overwhelming request for additional guest rooms, the Berman’s purchased a second property in Adamstown — the Amethyst Inn. This structure dates from 1830’s with the most recent additions during the 1870’s. Tom and Wanda are painstakingly restoring both the interior and exterior. They have chosen to clad the exterior of the Amethyst Inn in seven colors creating their second Victorian Painted Lady.

Architectural elements including gingerbread, wooden quoins (corner blocks), medallions, and detail features are highlighted in amethyst, gold, lavender, and forest green with a magnificent nine foot high intricately carved front door.
