So I arrive in my hotel room, everything looked to on the up and up. The room appeared to be in order and neatly put together… so it seemed. As I was getting ready to go to sleep I pulled back my top cover and thought I was in the middle of a horror movie; there were blood stains all over the cover. I immediately called the front desk and they issued me a new cover. Of course I checked the new one only to discovered this cover must have been the bed sheet of a little kid who couldn’t control his bladder. I was tired and frustrated at this point so I decided to not call again and sleep in the uncomfortable chair. That morning, I was suppose to be able to eat a complimentary breakfast but, everything tasted like rubber. I honestly think this will be my last time staying here.

In a little town like Ada, there’s not enough travelers to support a three or four star hotel. Therefore, a Hampton Inn or a Holiday Inn can be the best place in town. I have mixed feelings about this place. First thing, I should say the hotel had super nice staff people at the desk and the little breakfast room. That is a big deal and means a lot to most people, including me. The facility is on the Spartan end of the Holiday Inn Express spectrum, IMO. The room was comfortable, and equipped with the de rigeur coffeepot. It also had a microwave, always a plus, and a refrigerator, which I think is a waste of money both for the upfront cost and the electricity it takes to keep a usually unused but always on refrigerator running. The bathroom was again kind of plain but functional. It looked clean — but I found some long, dark hairs in the sink to remind me looking clean and being clean can be two different things. The fitness center is just a little room with a stationary bike and treadmill — really nothing useful to me, in spite of the statement on the HI-Ex website that it has«.everything you need to complete a good day’s workout.» I don’t do the hamster wheel stuff as I don’t know what the value of it is, other than tired legs, but that’s just me. Why no cable resistance machine or free weights? The internet was out in the hotel. I asked the desk person what was up and she said they were on the verge of firing the provider because it was a chronic problem. That’s too bad. It would have been nice to catch up on emails etc. The TV was a flat screen with a good selection of cable channels and HBO. If you read a few of my other hotel reviews, you will see the breakfast is a big deal to me. Part of this is my love of food, and part is the breakfast is the last thing I see of each hotel before I leave. I look for fresh fruit, low-calorie yogurt, and maybe some scrambled eggs — a combo of nutrition, flavor and protein. For breakfast, there was an assortment of bready stuff such as do-it-yourself pancakes, cinnamon rolls, toast, instant oatmeal and the like. There were also some little snack-pack type fruit cups in the cooler. They had those little pre-made semi-circular American cheese omelets like Hampton Inns have. Fresh fruit was limited to some very ripe bananas. The yogurt was original Yoplait only, no «light». A tiny thimbleful was 110 calories. Yes, I am fussy about the yogurt. I think anyone who is serious about watching calories will always want to try the yogurt as a way to balance tasty nutrition against low calories. Dieters who want to succeed want«light» items, including light yogurt. Hotel managers, when your yogurt is, ounce for ounce, more caloric than a bowl of Edy’s Ice Cream, you need to seriously consider some alternatives. I had a couple nibbles of omelet and banana, and went out for breakfast later. And one last thing: no receipt under my door this morning! I had to go to the front desk and wait in line to «check out» and get my receipt, a process which consisted of stating what room I was in and the young lady shuffling my receipt out of a stack of already-printed receipts. Are we still living in 1980 in Ada, or shouldn’t they just go around and push them under the doors like every other hotel does in the 21st Century? So there you are: decent facilities, wonderful staff, lame fitness room and lame breakfast. I believe Ada deserves a little better than this from Holiday Inn Express.

Maybe one of the nicer hotels in town. At least in the north end. A pretty new place with quite comfortable rooms with decent amenities. Even the small rooms have a small sink and microwave. Plus there is the morning breakfast which isn’t amazing, but a step up from just a few stale bagels and coffee. The only real downside was the noise. Not that the other gusts were noise, it just seems the rooms aren’t too well insulated from each other. I could hear the people on the floor above me walk around, the floor next to me listen to TV and the guy on the other side crap. So, even hear the sounds of the bathrooms *quite* clearly.(And it sounded like clearly there is one restaurant around here to avoid by the groaning and other sounds, but that’s unrelated to the hotel).

This is probably one of the nicest Holiday Inn Express hotels I have stayed in. Everyone is very friendly, and its very quiet. I have stayed here twice now on two seperate occasions and have had a very pleasant stay each time. My only small complaint is that there is no PPV for movies. Other than that I plan on staying here again when I come to visit this CIty.
