NTB – National Tire & Battery

I got a oil change here on Thursday morning. Customer service great. I did not have a appointment but they were very quick and I was out of there in less than an hour. On the drive home I noticed a creaking sound coming from the front right side of my car. We have struts in the front of our vehicle and sometimes they creak after the car has been up on the lift. The sound did not go away like it should have if it was just strut noise.
It was Labor Day weekend so today (Tuesday) I brought the car back and explained it had been making noises since the oil change, and wanted them to take a look. When I arrived a few moments after I said hello to the man at the front desk the phone rang and he spent a good few minutes dealing with the customer on the phone before he turned back to me. I found this very irritating and felt like the man on the phone should have been put on hold rather than the customer standing in the waiting area. I had been there about 30 minutes when they came and told me they thought it was my struts and I should take it to where I got those done. I immediately got a bad vibe, I felt like they were hiding something. I decided to pack up my 2 year old and drive down the road to my mechanic.
Only after a few minutes of being there my mechanic discovered a piece of bodywork had been pushed up into the belt area of my car. Luckily nothing was broken or damaged and they re clipped the piece of body work back to where it should be. My mechanic said the damage was definitely done during the oil change at NTB. And if they had any idea what they were doing they would have seen the issue when I brought it to them earlier. The repair cost me just over 30 dollars, but if I had not have gotten it fixed when I did it could have caused things to break and turned into a 200 – 500 dollar repair.
Later the same day I brought my car and my receipt/​diagnosis from my mechanic back to NTB. I waited a very long time for the man at the front desk. Finally I explained what my mechanic said, and the man at NTB said they would take a look. After a few moments he came back and completely denied anything was their fault and wouldn’t do anything to compensate me for the repair. He was very rude and defensive, it was not the customer service I expected. He even tried to show us that the piece of body work wasn’t in the same area they worked on. When my fiancé went out and looked he could clearly see the oil filter and the piece of bodywork was less than 1 foot apart, and easily could have been damaged during a oil change. NTB refused to accept responsibility for the damage. I used to like NTB very much but they have lost a customer for life because of how they handled the situation. I am not sure if it is just this location or the others as well, this is the first time I have been disappointed by them. The Kennesaw, and Dallas locations have been great but I am not sure I will be returning to any NTB ever again, after the way they handled that situation.

Bought my 5^th set of tires from Barry and his guys. They take great care of all my company vehicles and my personal cars and kids cars. Highly recommended.

Made several visits here to install new tires on the baby mobile. They have always been fast, friendly and professional. Couldn’t ask for anything more from a tire store!

This place always do good work. Even though it’s an oil change, I trust them with my ride.
