Should have read the reviews before we went! Schrod was $ 21.This fish was thin and dried out, smelled funny. Might even have been a frozen fish. Definitely not fresh. I left it on my plate. Broccoli raw. Potatoes tasteless. Waitress said there was nothing she could do. Other dish we got, was 5 scallops for $ 25. Definitely not worth it. It’s off our list too.

Worst experience we’ve had in a loooong time. Saturday night, ordered soup and entrees, the soup took 10 minutes to be ladled and brought to the table. After about one hour, we inquired about the dinner, the server said they had a big party as the reason for the delay. So I complained to the hostess, and she answered that this was not the reason, that they were very busy. She said this with a «shut up and go back to your table attitude» at this time the food had arrived, but we had already lost the appetite, and reasonably upset, asked to talk to the person in charge, the server said that the owners were behind the line, and she went to get someone, but was not surprised when she came back and said that they were very busy and did not have time. Worst of all, the food was not really that good! Well, guys, nice job at pissing off customers, soon you’ll have none!!! YOUAREOFFMYLIST, PERAMANENTLY.

Service is very friendly, but a bit slow. The bread was disappointing. It seemed a bit stale. The entrée was better. I had the eggplant parmigiana with pasta, which was good but not the best I’ve had. The dessert however, were amazing. They make their own ice cream in house and it’s very good.

I ordered chicken parm and was given veal parm(haven’t eaten veal in 20 years)… I immediately threw it up in the bath room… the waitress gave nothing more than an «oops».and NEVER offered to get me something else to eat… so I sat there and watched everyone else.

We ordered a calamari app., it was so delicious and a great portion. We also ordered the bruschetta, which was more like a pizza. There was a soft dough, marinara sauce and melted mozzarella, no «raw» ingredients on a crisp bread, but nevertheless it was good. Our meals were also very good. Unfortunately my risotto didn’t come out very well. It didn’t taste bad but wasn’t really risotto. My friend got a dish with a risotto«cake,» which seemed to come out better. The service was slow but our server overall did a fine job. We had to ask for more water and it took awhile to get our drinks, which just happens to be a pet peeve of mine. And we couldn’t order apps before our meal, we had to put the order in all at once, which I found odd. This sounds like a bad review but ultimately our food was very good and we had a nice time!

One star only because I have to. On November 21st my gf and I went in for dinner. It was her 30th birthday. We got on the list and were told it was a 25 minute wait. 25 minutes later we were at a table. Ordered drinks and had them in minutes, ordered the bruschetta for an app and had that fairly quick too. It’s now 6:55 and we ordered our dinners. Both of us ordered the chicken parm. 7:45 rolls around and the waitress comes over and apologizes saying the food will be right out. 15 more minutes pass and it’s now 8:00, still no food. We have now been sitting at our table since 645 and waited a little over an hour for our meals. The manager walked by so we flagged her down saying we would like our check and we won’t be staying any longer. So she sent our waitress over to give us the bill which«she removed the dinners from». Thanks for removing the dinners that we never received. They could have cared less that we didn’t want to stay any longer. We watched the waitress comp the table behind us a round of drinks after she apologized for their dinners taking so long as well. When walking out the door I asked for the manager to let her know how long we had actually sat there waiting. All she said was sorry it’s been a crazy night. Then the waitress tells us our food is about ready to come out… An hour and ten minutes after we ordered it and as we were walking out the door. Never again. It wasn’t the waitresses fault and she was very nice but the manager could have done better. She clearly didn’t give a sh! t

The only reason this has a 1 star and not negatives is bc our server Alli was a complete sweetheart and no fault whatsoever of hers. Walked in after a 1 hour wait at Mia riggazza… Should have stayed… This place is a disaster… we waited to put our name in for almost 10 minutes. I should taken the hint of the other patrons just shaking their heads. We got seated after 20 mins … Being 2nd on the wait list. We waited for 1 hour before I asked the manager which I believe was Marsha for the my bill for the drinks we had ordered. She asked why and I responded with the 1 hour wait for food… She responded with a condescending you didn’t wait for an hour response. I eventually retrieved the check for our drinks and we left. I think ownership needs to step in immediately. I knew there was an issue as soon as there were spelling errors all over the food menu and and drink menus on the table.

Food was decent and well presented. The service was good. The restaurant space is a little crowded and the building/décor is older. I was pleasantly surprised that this is a decent restaurant. Went here years ago and didn’t like it at all. So, all good. I would go back again.

We have been going to Vin & Eddie’s for years. Collectively, my family and I have gone there at least once a year since the 1960’s for special occasions. I started going in the late 90’s. It used to be considered a high end Italian restaurant — a little expensive, but the veal and pasta dishes were always excellent, as was the service. Last night, 7 of us made a reservation for dinner at 6PM, and it was a disaster. The service was exceptionally slow. It took about half an hour to get anything edible on the table, which turned out to be bread. The main courses took almost two hours to arrive. The veal parmesan(2 orders) were tough and basically inedible. The short ribs were overcooked and inedible. In spite of swimming in a thin, unappetizing sauce, they tasted dry and chewy, not in a good way. The pasta(pappardelle, linguini, etc.) was nothing special — certainly not of the quality of good homemade pasta, but that’s not what they do. The waitress tended to disappear for long periods of time. One of us ordered a half order of Fettuccine Bolognese pasta and she told him that she would check to see if they could do that. Nothing further was said about it until she showed up with the main courses and two sides of the pasta. We asked about the second side and she told us that when the half order had been requested, one of us had asked for the other half, which was untrue. We told her that we only wanted a half order and she told us that they don’t do half orders. We repeatedly explained that we didn’t want the second half order, which she eventually took back, yet when the bill came we were charged for a full order. We brought this up to the waitress and told her we were only going to pay for half and her reply was«You can’t do that. I’m going to have to talk to the manager.» The meal was a huge disappointment and none of us plan to ever return to the restaurant. What was once a wonderful fine dining establishment with great Italian food has become an embarrassment. We noticed that the table next to us also had to send back at least one of their entrees. At one point, when we were waiting for our food, the waitress apologized by saying that there was a large party in another part of the restaurant. I believe that she said that this was a group event. If so, they should have known how many people they needed for staffing, and it still doesn’t explain the problems with the quality of the food. Good points? One of my favorite items at V&E’s has been their Clams Casino, although they call them Baked Stuffed Littlenecks. They were always special because they open fresh clams and leave the clam in the shell, cover them with bread crumbs, bacon and seasonings and put them in the oven. None of these canned chopped clams mixed with bread crumbs like so many other restaurants. We ordered a couple of these appetizers and although they were slightly burnt, meaning that some of the breadcrumbs were charcoal and the clams were a little dry(not all of them, just a few) they were still better than the typical baked stuff clams in the area. Also, the Bolognese sauce was excellent, although the fettuccine itself was just OK. We left after almost 3 hours, frustrated and disappointed. There was never any effort on the part of the staff or the manager to address our issues or adjust our bill. As I stated, we won’t be back. I also submitted this review to TripAdvisor

Went on a Saturday night, place was empty. I can see why, started off with a filthy menu, sticky and spots on the back, went down hill from there. Bad service, burnt bread on the bread dish. Over priced food. What happened? We used to live this place!

Great food, but pretty standard fare. Went the other night and the place reaked of dampness/old urine.

It’s been 10+ years since I’ve eaten here and thought it would be a nice change from the regular spots we frequent. Went here on a Sunday at 3pm(opening time) for a birthday party w/11 guests. We were informed that I did not qualify for the free birthday dinner since my birthday was the day before(we simply couldn’t get the group together on Sat). It was explained to us that in the past people abused the policy by coming in the day prior, on and after to scam them out of free meals. It’s such a small place you would think a notebook at the cashier’s station would be effective to jot down names to reference, assuming you have to show ID. Although it was a bit embarrassing to have this conversation in front of my guests, I understood. We started to order and the first guest ordered clam chowder and was told they had run out… they just opened, we were the first party and only party of diners in there. There were 4 children in our group, asked if there were free soda refills, nope. When the meals arrived 3 of them had to be sent back due to being cold. We were seriously thinking of calling it a day there to head over to a NYAJ’s. The last thing I want to mention is the tacky notes hung up all around the hostess station about incomplete partied cannot be seated, eehhh. The place needs some refreshing, like I said it’s been 10+ yrs since I’ve been there and looks like nothing has changed at all. I won’t go back, there’s stiff competition out there that have better policies, meals, décor.

The strawberry salad is amazing! A great starter. The food in general is delicious. I had the gluten free lasagna and it was so good; it tasted like a regular one. This is one of my favorite restaurants on the area. It’s an excellent place for couples dining.

Wow — What a great find! My fiancé and I went to dinner last night, needless to say we left extremely satisfied. I got the chicken saltimbocca quite possibly the best meal I’ve ever received at a restaurant! My fiancé tried the special of the day which was my Marsala he too was very very pleased! Full bar and great drinks! Our favorites were the margaritas and the martinis. For dessert we got banana bread pudding that was out of this world. This family run establishment is a great treasure to the South Shore community and we absolutely will be back !

Been going here for years, but last two times have been TERRIBLE experiences. They redesigned the seating and took out all the personality of the place… The room with the booths has a nite streetlight across the street that shines SOBRIGHT into the window that I was getting a sunburn from the glare !! Marsha — Get a clue and put a shade on that window so you can sit and not think you are in a prison camp… all that was missing were the barking dogs !!! Our waitress had the personality of a STONE and the shrimp scampi tasted like dishwater with some parsley… pathetic. Also fix that POTHOLE at the front door or one of the Seniors that have lost all their tastebuds will fall and then you will be working for them !!!

Fantastic service from Amanda. The food was excellent. 3 different kinds of bread to start. Good Caprese salad. Fairly priced kids meals. Excellent chicken parm and a scallop risotto dish. Also, a free meal on your birthday if you are there with a friend. Nice meal. But, it does take a LONG time to have dinner here — seems to take forever for the entrees to arrive. Don’t make plans for after… You’ve been warned.

Ok second review ever and it’s not good here, bad enough I’m taking the time to review and its only to save my south shore friends their money. Went for my dads birthday and I admit I’m a food snob but I also wouldn’t bad mouth a place for no reason. Service was good actually, and on a high note Martini was actually great. But I new from outside the place was not kept up, no one in the parking lot, and when I approached the hostess station my wife looked at me with a look and it was because it smelled bad. From here on in bad, bad Cesar salad(way too much dressing) bread was ok, steak was dry, saltimbocca was salty as hell, chicken parm chewy(gross) and it keeps going, save you money go to Hingham if you want to spend money and get a real meal(Burton’s, Scarlett’s) sorry vinny breaks my heart, Ramsey’s on his way hopefully

Went here on Valentines day of 2014. My boyfriend and I had a really great time! The atmosphere was cozy and romantic which was great for our date. I got two glasses of wine and my boyfriend got two beers. They are a little pricey but you get what you pay for! Appetizer, a crab stuffed mushroom, was amazing. Our meals were also wonderful. I got scallops and he got steak. Everything was displayed and cooked well, which I know sometimes isn’t the case on a busy night at a restaurant. They did well. My only complaint was the server wasn’t too friendly. I have waitressed previously for years and understand the food industry. A smile wouldn’t have killed her! Other than that, I can’t complain. Thanks!

We came here for my cousin’s birthday. There were about 10 of us, so we sat towards the back of the restaurant at a larger table. The restaurant is considers themselves to be more ‘upscale’ and I’ll admit, probably wasn’t a good choice for our group of people(we’re fun, loud, and sometimes we cause a scene). The service was alright, not spectacular, not spot on. There were a few times we had had to ask multiple times for things like bread, drinks, etc. A member of our party had to wait longer for their food and it’s so weird when stuff like that happens because you’re sitting there debating on whether you should eat while they sit there or be respectful and wait and let your food get cold. The manager was coming around and asking other tables how their food was, welp… it’s a good thing that she got caught up in a conversation at the table right before ours because I think she would have heard an earful from my cousins about how it was so bad.
