I was really trying to avoid giving this place any kind of bad review. I have owned my car for a year now and now that I have just gone through inspection for this year, I think I am ready to give an honest review. I will start off by saying, two different 5 star mechanics have told me the car I bought is great. (which works for me, I looked for a specific model, and this dealership was the only one that carried it at the time) But business with this place started on what’s considered a pretty big lie in the car sale business. I looked at the car fax prior to purchase, realized there were two recalls, so in the process of purchasing it was agreed that they would take both recall problems to be fixed before I get the car. I was told everything was all set and I took my awesome new car. Months down the line I get an alert that tells me I have purchased a car needing a recall to be fixed. So, yeah they never fixed it and they sold it to me saying that they did. Got it fixed, no big deal. Told Midway and they had some lame excuse about how they were busy with the paperwork on my car. Sure, we’ll go with that! During the summer, my mother was driving me to and from appointments for chemotherapy, she said the AC was not working. Took it to Midway, they came up with some elaborate story (according to her) about how we need some kind of part that isn’t covered under my plan and blah blah. I got back into the car when she came home, realized she was seriously just hitting the wrong button for the AC… works fine. During the service visit, the «mechanic» was supposed to check a number of different things, said he did, said everything was fine. It’s now almost winter, a few days before sticker inspection, I take my car to an incredible mechanic, he says «Please don’t go to Midway for any service on this car if you want it to remain reliable. The things he told you he fixed, are not fixed at all. In fact it looks as though they were never even looked at.» So that is where I am at with this car. Longest review of my life. The man that sold me this car, was incredibly nice. I explained my story about how I have been fighting cancer for over 6 years, and I haven’t had a car in years so I need something reliable and I need people that are reliable. This place has a ridiculous amount of bad reviews, and while you can absolutely get a good car here (if you know what you’re doing) I would take it to your own mechanic for anything else. There are people driving around on the South Shore with a Midway sticker on their car, and another that says «Don’t buy from here.» I hope they start taking notice.

Don’t Buy A car here… Bought a car here six weeks ago also bought a extended warranty.
Car dies in the street I tow it to Midway. They tell me the exhaust system is plugged up its $ 1200,00 to fix it. Warranty covers zero, Then they charge me $ 150.00 diagnostic fee.
They Suck…

I haven’t bought a car from these people but I did go to their website looking for one. It was the worst web shopping experience I’ve ever had.
10 pages of vehicles and their site claimed that every single one was a new arrival, listed no price, and told me I’d have to contact them.
You know why car dealerships tell you to call? Because they are trying to scam you into paying more, pull a bait and switch, or try to convince you that you don’t know what you want (because somehow a salesman who doesn’t know you happens to know what you want better than you). Still, this is literally the first dealership I have ever seen with a website showing pages upon pages of inventory with EVERY SINGLE ONE saying call us rather than giving me a price. As such this is the worst car dealership I have ever encountered on the web.
Maybe this «call us» scam works on some people, but not only am I not going to ever check this company out again, I even came here to write this review about my experience. Was it worth it, Midway?

The sales department is great, helpful smiling etc.,
My only question when i bought my honda was the brakes sounded squeaky, i was told they were new (understandable when first changed) after driving 500 miles they keep getting louder, the service department has a b%!*h working who reschedules
Your appointment then when you finally get one you have to wait around because she explains its busy and you could reschedule she is the rudest most unhelpful person i have ever dealt with after 4 hours waiting i rescheduled and went to autozone went home and changed it myself

Bad Bad Bad… just bad. I am very suspicious of any «good» reviews on this place.

I wish I could give zero stars. The service department is absolutely terrible. I dropped my truck off to have a fuel line replaced. The estimate that I got was $ 200, but he told me that I would probably want to replace all the lines and that would cost about $ 1300. I declined and told them to just fix the one line. I got a call about 2 hours later stating that the one line was fixed but they happened to find another leak and now it’s up to $ 500. The truck is old and there probably was a second leak. I went to get my truck the next day and noticed the fuel was below ¾ (it was full when I dropped it off). I went in and asked about the lost fuel and the response I got was «yeah, we lost some fuel» followed by a blank stare. I went back the next day to try to get some clarification. The responses I got were along the lines of «your truck is fixed isn’t it? what are you complaining about?» I was told that the fuel was lost when they cut the lines. I’m not a mechanic but I find it hard to believe that ¼ of the fuel in the truck is stored in the lines. The tank on a Silverado is 26 gallons. If what they are telling me is correct that would mean that 6.5 gallons of fuel is stored in the lines. I find that very hard to believe, and even so, wouldn’t you replace the fuel that you spilled? So much for customer service. I wouldn’t refer anyone to the criminals who work at the Midway service dept.

Went in to buy a car. Dealt with Kevin. At first he was nice and easy going. But after the money exchanged hands he turned into a different person. He was rude, would not let me get a word in while speaking with him on the phone, he gave excuses as to why something didn’t get done rather than solutions to make it better, and I feel he lied to us. He told us they would register the car we bought Monday, which was fine because it was bought on Saturday. When I called inquiring about the registration, he said it wasn’t done. He was very rude and kept giving me the excuse that «over 20 cars were sold over the weekend, so it just didn’t get done.» He kept saying that you have 7 days to register it, which is fine, but this is a livery company. If the driver was to get pulled over with a client in the car just because it wasn’t registered yet would be ridiculous. If he hadn’t said they would take care of it on Monday, I would have went myself. He was also very quick to pass the blame. He told me to call and speak with Adele, who handles the registry runs, so he could get off the phone with me. The way he talked at me, (I wouldn’t even say he talked to me, I would specifically say he talked AT me) on the phone just made it seem that after they get their money they don’t care about their customers. Like I said prior, this is for a livery company, someone who is looking to replace 2 more sedans and 1 SUV. And because of this experience, we will never go back to this dealer, nor would I recommend them to anyone.

Got a great car here recently at a very competative price — not much drama — sales and financing very helpful.

If I could give this place no stars, I would. Worst part is I wasn’t even the buyer or getting service. I was here for moral support with a friend hoping to make a purchase. It’s like going on a really bad date — all the red flags went up right away:
— there were more staff than customers
— salesmen were not dressed business casual at the least, definitely looked like they just rolled out of bed
— their idea of a sales pitch is, «Do you want the car or not?»
— they are not open to negotiating prices at all. Salesman immediately brought in the GM, also dressed in cargo shorts. GM’s idea of negotiating is dropping the price by $ 300. Wow, huge savings.
I could definitely add more to this list but you get the point.
So lesson learned. Learn from fellow Unilocalers and take your money to a legitimate establishment with legitimate business people.

My rowing club bought a 2006 Dodge Ram 2500 from them and so far, we couldn’t be happier. The truck is what you expect for a 6 year old truck with low miles. It’s in good but not great condition and we did receive a good deal. I’d work with these guys again.
The sticker price on the car was higher than the internet price so I’d recommend looking at the internet price of the car first and make sure you have that handy for negotiations.
The truck did have the check engine light on when we test drove it. They fixed it, but I would have thought they would have fixed it prior to having a customer test drive it. Could be me being picky. They had issues registering the truck — not their fault — we had to do it a certain way that we and they were not aware of.
Overall, a good experience and we’ve used the truck to trailer our hulls to a couple races. Thanks guys!

Buyer beware! I was in a bad spot I needed a car right away because I was in a car accident and the rental time was getting close to ending from my insurance company. My credit is not the best thing around and I was desperate so I bought a lemon. Did I know it was a lemon right away nooooo. Instead 2 months after owning it the engines starts knocking and acting weird. I bring it there hear nothing from them for 2 weeks and then get a phone call telling me the oil pan is gone oil is spilling everywhere and there is so much wear and tear on the engine that they can’t do anything until it ceases because of the warranty company. So a few months later driving on the highway my engine gives out in rush hour an I almost get into an accident trying to pull over. My car goes in for a month I get it back working great. Then all if a sudden the transmission starts acting up I bring it in they have it for a month I have a loaner the whole time so it’s no big deal and I get it back with the check engine light on. I was told it will go away after driving it. I drive it for a month bring it back in and they keep it for 2 weeks sending here there anywhere but never call me to inform me on what is going on. A phone call to tell me there is no progress would be nice just something. They install a new thermostat as well and I get my car back transmission seems to be ok for now but now I have no heat. Already brought my car back to get the heat fixed they say they fix it but later that day no heat once again. I will be going back and they will never be getting my business again as soon as this loan is up. It’s not services fault the salesmen are sleaze balls but service just seems like a big joke with no sense of urgency. By the way I have had a rejection sticker on my car since I bought it because it can’t pass and they don’t care.

This place is the epitome of a HORROR SHOW. When your car needs 2 new transmissions and a new engine and you haven’t had the car for a year… there is a HUGE problem. Not to mention the abominable service they provide. The way they run their business is beyond frustrating. They don’t honor the vehicles they sell, and basically in a nut shell it’s the most crooked business i’ve ever come into contact with. Oh yeah… when your car DOES break, because it will… it’s ”not their problem” Whoever reads this… if you’re thinking about buying a car from MIDWAY… just DON’T.

I went to Midway to appraise my used car, and although I didn’t end up selling it to them (the trade-​in price was better) I felt like they gave me very useful (and truthful) information about the value of my car. They were fair, forthright, and helpful.

My experience in buying a car with Midway Automotive has been great so far. I went in and John Luis was the salesman who helped me out. He was very honest with me (uncommon for a lot of car salesmen I have dealt with in the past) and very helpful. He didn’t try to get me to sign for a car that was out of my price range or pressure me into any kind of purchase. He was just a regular guy and his honesty was what really pushed me to buy with him. So far the car is running just fine and I look forward to seeing how the service will be!

Horribly incompetent service department, I have returned here now for the 4^th time for them to install a part I was told they would have my first trip back. I was also told this would be a 5 minute procedure and I have now been here for 2 hours. I bought this car from here and there are many hidden problems with it.

Dont be lured in by the free oil changes for life if you buy a car here. You pay in many many other ways. I have been sitting here waiting for my «free oil» change for well over an hour now. This service dept. is a complete joke. They give used lots a bad name and their slow and unfriendly service is enough to make me never want to come back. I’d rather pay for oil changes than ever come to this grease-​pot again.

I just wanted to add (after reading the filtered reviews) that my review is REAL and I only mentioned the guy’s look so that others may recognize him when/​if they went in.
I have not gone here since my last poor experience.
