Capo’s Music Store is an all acoustic music shop specializing in Bluegrass, Old Time, Folk and Americana. As Virginia’s Première Acoustic Shop, we offer a wide range of string instruments from beginner level to one of a kind and hand made instruments. From small shop to larger manufacturers we have something to fit everyone’s price point and needs. Join us every Saturday night for our acoustic music jam starting at 6:30. Both listeners and players welcome.

History

Established in 2009.

Owner’s Gill and Amy Braswell opened Capo’s in December 2009. Bringing together a love of music, the region and it’s musical heritage, they have created a shopping experience unlike any other music store in the region. Since then the store has grown and developed to become a NAMM Top 100 Retailer in 2013 and 2014. The store now ships worldwide as well as serving local customers through the brick and mortar store.

Business Owner

Hello, I am Amy Ball Braswell, Director of Business Operations, for Capo’s Music Store. I am a native of Southwest Virginia having grown up in Russell and Washington Counties. I have a B.S. from Virginia Tech and a M.A.L.S. from Hollins University. Amy have worked throughout Virginia in a variety of positions from public relations and marketing, to retail sales and in education. My husband Gill and I met when we were both working for Barter Theatre. After our work ended at Barter we decided to stay in Washington County. In 2009 I left my position as Director of Campus Service Programs at Emory & Henry College to start Capo’s Music Store with Gill. I oversee all business operations and marketing for the store.
