I don’t know, I mean it’s a little winery in the woods and it has a stream Not alot of fan fair, quant of descent wine list The owners are elderly. The man seems personable, the woman… not so much I’ve been to few of these around the country and you buy a flight of one kind or another then I usually buy a case of what I like, mainly to show support, then they usually give you the glasses you drank out of Oh no, not here. The elderly woman behind the counter kinda scolds you if you even mention taking the glasses The old fellas nice though I doubt I’ll be back Really no reason

Actually this isn’t a review, just more info — This winery is not open on Mondays. We were passing through and would have stopped in, but fortunately called ahead. Sounded great from the other reviews.

Looking for a scenic drive followed by delicious local wine, Abingdon Vineyard and Winery is the place to go. We were in town to go to the theater and found a brochure for the vineyard at the hotel we were staying at. The drive to the vineyard is absolutely beautiful so make sure to have a camera out(passengers of course!). My husband and I chose to do a tasting since we were unfamiliar with the wines that they offered. We were given a fairly long list of the offered wines and were allowed to choose several from the list to taste. The wine guide that we were given had the descriptions of the wines and were nicely organized by level of dryness or sweetness. We were impressed with the Triple Duck wine made from 3 types of grapes grown at the vineyard! The owners were nice to chat with and kept the busy tasting room moving quickly through the wines while still answering questions. Stick around if you buy a glass and enjoy the outdoors and relax on their patio area!

Abingdon Vineyard and Winery sits on 53 acres along the South Holston River, one-half mile from the Virginia Creeper Trail and five miles from Damascus, Virginia, where five trails intersect, including the Appalachian Trail. The winery is known for varietals such as Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chambourcin, Chardonel, Chardonnay, Norton, Pinot Noir, Riesling, Traminette, and Viognier. My personal favorites are their White Pinot Noir, Traminette, and Viognier. In addition to the wines produced, the winery boasts a lovely tasting room, picnic area, and beautiful scenery and wildlife due to their ideal location near the river and hiking trails.

Beautiful place! Driving there was just amazing views of Blue Ridge mountains. Didn’t stay long, taste only 3 of their wines all reds. All were great. We bought 1 bottle if their Cab’s. A must see vineyard. The river was very relaxing site.
