Just enjoyed a chicken fried steak and combo fajitas, wow delicious!!! Our waitress was kind and prompt. My favorite part of our experience was that there is an actual changing table with a changing pad in the women’s bathroom, unfortunately not in the men’s. This made our 14 month old very happy not to be on the hard plastic ones! Thank you for a great lunch with my family!!!

We’d give this place 4 ½ stars if we could. Had to wait a little, but didn’t mind since the staff was so friendly and hard-working. Basic American menu with lots of choices, everything made fresh from scratch. Everything we had was great — burger, chicken fingers, fried fish, onion rings. Great service and food came really quickly.

Wow I love this place! I didn’t like how small it was but other than that I will always eat here! The food is great and ALL of the wait staff was so friendly and fun. Definitely going there again this weekend.

Pretty good chicken fried streak. Very tender and fried just right. Nothing great about the cream gravy. All the meals around me at different tables looked good. Overall pretty good, but didn’t blow my socks off.

Located across from Walmart and easily accessible. Food is average. BUT Fried pickles are a must here!

Awesome place. The food was excellent and our lil waitress was so very friendly. I’m extremely picky on chicken fry and this was excellent. Way worth it!

The chicken fried steak is good and the fries are really good. I will be back plenty of times to try the other items on the menu. The only let down was no mashed potatoes and the«roll» or «bread» on the plate is a little fried piece of dough like the Chinese donuts at a Buffett wasn’t really a fan. Texas toast with some butter would have sealed the deal.

Nice mom and pop place. It has a Southern feel to it. We stopped here here after a team competition. I had the jalapeño burger. Great price for a great place.

I got the Mexican sirloin and it was great! Great piece of meat; tender, juicy, and marbled. It came with house-made salsa(they called it hot sauce on the menu) and jalapeño cheese melted on it. The sautéed onions, green peppers, jalapenos and tomatoes were delicious. The fries were good but the green beans weren’t so great.

One of the BEST steaks I’ve had in a long time! Traveling from Dallas and this was a perfect choice for a steak dinner! Excellent service too!

We go to both locations and enjoy every meal we have. Portions are large and great tasting. The cook rib eyes the way they should be cooked. The onion rings are the best. Coconut pie is awesome.

Amazing food, great service! Had the seafood platter and the fried mushrooms. Something about their batter is magic.

This place is a real café! Not a gourmet restaurant… But good all around food, with very decent service. Did I mention their hamburgers are some of the best in town. The place is small and may have to wait during the noon hour

This is the 2nd(3rd?) time I’ve eaten here and it really is pretty good. LOTS of people agree(packed parking lot)! My husband was a bit chagrined when I went off the menu(most go for the chicken friend steak, steak, burgers, etc.) and ordered the shrimp quesadilla. It was delicious! And the waitress was very accommodating when I told her I didn’t want refried beans; she subbed the pinto beans, which were very tasty. Naturally he devoured his CFS and baked potato with all of the fixings. They could use a little more room in the dining area, however. Otherwise, a good experience.

I drove around Abilene hunting down a small and unique restaurant experience and I found this small place tucked into a shopping center area. With a name like Skeet’s Texas Grill, my expectations for what I might find was some nice Texas brisket. Just to let you know, this establishment is more of a greasy spoon diner and not a BBQ joint(no TX brisket). I noticed the parking lot was full so I deemed it safe to enter. The small restaurant was at 75 percent capacity when I walked inside. I was seated right away and within 3 minutes I had a cold drink and salad in front of me. My server, Beth, was friendly enough and made sure that my drink was full and ensured my food arrived promptly. In fact, when I ordered my Boston burger, it was so hot off the grill I could hardly eat it with out letting it cool. The service was on point. The price of most items on the menu were about 9 dollars. There were burgers, steaks, fried food, and salads. This is the kind of stuff you would expect to have at a traditional road diner. The quality of the meat in the burger was awesome but at the same time very simple and nothing that made it truly unique. Overall, I was very happy with my dinning experience here but there wasn’t any defining edge that made this place a true diamond in the rough. I do recommend this place as long as you are expecting a diner experience or this might be a good choice for lunch.

If you like tons and tons of soggy, greasy, undercooked, overpriced, garbage – then this is your spot. There was nothing original or home cooked about this place, all their food tasted like it was frozen and bought from Walmart. Gravy was BLAND!!! Fries were inedible – I threw them away!!! Mushrooms were the greasiest of them all, threw them away after a few bites too!!! Chicken strips were very soggy. I now have to go back into town and get something else to eat — thanks a lot! Don’t Eat Here!!!

Ok I tried this place the last time I came to Abilene off of the Unilocal reviews. It was amazing so I said well let me try it again. If I eat nothing but fried mushrooms I think I will be good for the rest of my life!!! The food in this place is amazing. If you go get the fried mushrooms and the onion rings and you will need nothing else cause you will want that as a meal!!!
