Double Dave’s Pizzaworks

Double Dave’s has great draft beer (even some local brews) and doesn’t charge an arm and a leg for it. The pizza is also great-​Buffalo Chicken is my favorite!

Tonight there’s a chemical smell coming in from the Nail salon next door. Mgr said the owner was doing his own remodeling.

Amazing service! Great pizza and pizza rolls. Plus the beer wasn’t flat, which is always a plus. Well Done Double Daves.

This place looks so awesome on the inside. Lots of signs all over the walls good music playing I took a picture to show it. I don’t drink beer but my boyfriend enjoys a cold beer with his meal they have like 12 beers on tap and 5 different in bottle. I don’t know much about beer but the one he wanted was on tap but they were out. No biggie. We had a coupon for the 4 free pepperoni rolls which were amazing. I love the food here its ALWAYS great. Good environment as well. Happy hour specials. Did I mention food is amazing??? I just wish the customer service was… better.
Anyways this time I got the buffalo chicken sandwich it was DELICIOUS. as always! Finishing with a chocolate chip cookie pizza!

I would like to give Double Dave’s 5 stars because of really good previous experiences but. .. . our last experience was NOT good. We went about 12:10 and ordered an all meat pizza on thin crust for the buffet. My husband got a piece of pizza to eat while waiting and I got a salad and Philly Cheese steak thing. We were seated where we could see the buffet. When they brought out a pizza, one of us went and looked to see if it was what we ordered. We asked the waitress about the pizza and she said she thought it had already been brought out and it was gone. We told her it was never brought out. We also asked if the pizza of the month — a Chili Pie Pizza — was going to be on the buffet. They said no because they didn’t have any chili. We got whatever pizza was on the buffet to finish our lunch, even though it was all thick crust, which we don’t care for. Before leaving we asked to see the manager. A young man came out and we told him the problem. He said he would go make one. We said no because we already ate other pizza. I don’t think he ever said he was sorry. He said they got really busy about that time. I pointed out that there was only one couple that came in before us and the place wasn’t even half full with people who came in after. He didn’t smile and wasn’t friendly. However, we will go back. I contacted Double Dave’s through their web site and my husband got a very nice call from someone at the corporate office saying he was sending us coupons for a free buffet and hopefully I will be able to write a good review. I had indicated in my email to them that I wasn’t convinced that the young man we were talking to was really a manager. He told my husband the manager is 19. Not sure how much longer he will be working there. I think next time we go we will call ahead to order what we would like to be on the buffet.

I ate the margherita pizza and it was pretty good. Nothing special or out of the ordinary. The prices are a little high for pizza if you ask me. Also, would of gave a better ranking if they were able to get on base and deliver like they told me. Instead I had to drive to the gate. Overall, it’s a decent pizza place.

I mean it is what it is. I got a large pizza and to be honest I felt like I needed another large behind it just to fill me yp. Not sure if I’ll return to this place

I have eaten here several times with this time being the first that I had the buffet. Positives is the amount of mushrooms. If you love mushrooms which I do. My advice is go for the thin crust pizza. The hand tossed seemed a little chewy. The thin is just thin enough to get that good crunch without being paper thin. No complaints and when you’re in Abilene and want good pizza this is the place to go.

The pizza is amazing but I recommend ordering your pizza to go or having it delivered unless you like dirty restaurants and poor attitudes. This place is dirty! We arrived at 11 and were the only people in the place. The tables and benches were all greasy and had not been wiped down at all. We let them know that the pepperoni pizza was running out and the manager said «ha, yeah we’ll get right on that» in a sarcastic tone. We were very disappointed in this establishment and will not be returning.

This pizza is a overpriced Pizza Hut or Domino’s at best. Waited an 1 ½ hrs for delivery after being told 40 minutes. Food arrived cold.

Staff can’t keep up with customers. Tables are slow to get bussed. Pizza comes out extremely slow. Pizza is delicious though.

Pizza is out of this world! Friendly employees and service was wonderful. Prices are reasonable. I have found my new pizza place.

Great salad bar, pizza selection at lunch is great! If you want something special they will make it for you –just tell them. Love their salad accessories: yellow banana peppers, pepperoni slices, both kinds of olives. Give them a tip and watch them ring the cow bell, then listen for the response!

Todays experience with the buffet was poor. Their sign says buffet hours 11am to 2pm. We arrived at 12:30 and got one decent plate each. Second trip was less than successful. From about 12:45 onward it looked like they were trying to end. By 1pm they had about a quarter of the buffet lights out and little selection. I witnessed at least 4 other people look more than once at the buffet and then return to their tables empty handed. Salad bar needed attention since no one was cleaning spills. Before today I would have rated their buffet 5 stars based solely on the rate at which they refilled the pizza, today I would have given ½ a star if I could.
Fresh pizza here is delicious, but if you go for the buffet look at the condition of it BEFORE you pay… if it looks good proceed with caution, if it looks bad, leave! You’ve been warned. I hate to give a bad review based on one bad experience, but it was that bad.

This pizza was Phenomonal. Delivered in under 30min. Tender flaky crust. Very fresh mushrooms.

I love pizza. Daves has very good pizza, BUT… I go for the Dessert pizza!!! OMG! Cherry, apple, cinnamon, and CHOCOLATE CHIP! No wonder I’m fat. Not that pizza is healthy, but this place has a wheat crust that’s pretty good. Really good AYCE buffet, average salad bar. Give them a try.

It’s hard for me to find a pizza I really love, and Double Daves does it for me.
We usually go for the all you can eat buffet during their lunch hours. When you arrive, they ask if they can whip up anything special for you, which I love, love, love! I’m not a huge fan of what they serve on their traditional veggie, so I ask for one with just tomatoes and they bring it right to your table, serve you your slices and then put it out on the buffet for others to enjoy. The best part is that they’re happy to do so and aren’t put out.
The buffet also includes a salad bar, which isn’t anything too thrilling. I supposed a salad bar is a salad bar. On the other hand, you’re there for pizza, not salad!
We’ve ordered in a few times and we usually go for the deep dish. The cheese to sauce to topping ratio is beyond perfect.
So yes, the pizza is good, the salad bar is okay but then there comes dessert. Chocolate chip dessert pizza. I don’t even know how to describe how wonderful it is. A thin crust topped with a sugar/​butter sauce (if you will) and then topped with mini milk chocolate chips and served warm. It’s a little like heaven.
