The Cornish Pasty Bakery

Oh, WOW! Unfortunately, in a rush to get tucked in to one of their delicious looking, giant pasties, I forgot to take a pic of their window, failed with a smörgåsbord of excitingly flavoured pasties. From the traditional, to the quite common steak and Stilton, to chicken and chorizo, all of them looked tempting to the taste buds.
I opted for the steak and Stilton, while my Mum went for the chicken and chorizo. You literally needed two hands to get stuck in to this, and the flavour lived up to the promise. They weren’t stingy with the meat filling, and the pastry was a perfect golden crunch. We had it with 2 teas, and in all the bill came to about £8 or £9, which, given the size and quality, I found very reasonable. Staff were lovely and friendly, and if you’re a local (or not, but planning on staying for a week or so) they have a loyalty card, with your 9^th pasty free. There is the option to take away or sit in, with a small seating area.

Great place to stop for a quick bite while on the move.
Not had a pasty from here but the panini/​melts they do are lovely and really well filled.
Prices are good too!

This is an absolutly fabulous pasty shop. They DO offer other types of food too but I wonder why they bother!!! The Pasties are brill. Well worth trying if you happen to wander past. they do so many different types. fat too many for me to mention. all look delicious. They are also open until fairly late in the evening too!

Superb food, I stopped for a snack and had a large traditional Steak Cornish pasty, not the best I have ever had.
But worth it for a snack while walking around the town.

My first ever experience with a cornish pastie is from this place! so I can’t tell you how authentic they are.
but they’re. different! I don’t usualy like pastry but I decided to give them a go as I was taken in by the range of different flavors you can choose from. erg steak and stilton, lamb and mint, pork and apple aswell as the more traditional flavors.
First thing to say about them is they’re huge! so folks with a smaller appetite should perhaps think about sharing! There is a thick crust of pastry which I found quite hard to get through, but the pidgeons appreciated it! the filling was plentiful and piping hot (I went for lamb and mint), very comforting and warming on a cold winters day!
The Cornish pastry shop also does cakes and drinks.

the cornish pasties are really yummy, much better than greggs.
they have all different types of fillings, such as chicken and steak and mince. so yummy!
its great if your out on a shopping trip and dont have much time to stop and sit down and eat. and also great to pick up and take home for dinner to save you cooking.
The shop is kept very clean, and the staff are really nice, never heard a bad word from them, and they have a great knowledge of there own products, and services, the prices are really good too.
it is worth popping into next time your passing.

Before moving to York I’d never considered having a pasty when on a night outlet’s face it Kebabs are the staple beer induced food of choice for many!
But the Cornish Pasty Bakery in York has changed that! The Pastys are reasonable and really tasty! They certainly fill a big hole if you are hungry!
We’re not just talking traditional Conish pastys though in this joint they have all sorts of different flavours, such as chicken balti and loads of others. The Giant Traditional Pasty’s are my personal recommendation, they are packedwith meat, potatoes and gravy! Delicious!
This place also does soups, sandwiches, paninis, cakes and cookies, all of which are also excellent!

great place for a quick tasty, but waist expanding bite!
they sell cornish pasties! of all different sizes and some other fillings like steak and stilton etc also sandwiches, drinks but no cuddly toy!
its kind of gimicky, as i have had better cornish pasties, from other bakeries, but if your passing and eating on the move its not a bad place to stop at.
