I joined membership at David Lloyd in York and the gym itself is lovely. However, we were misled by the Salesperson who sold us our membership and have since cancelled. Unfortunately, their Customer Services staff don’t really get any better. Bad experience! Look elsewhere!

Fairly well located for people living around the east of york. The prcies are a little on the expensive side for my liking but not ridiculous. Most of the gym equipment is good and well maintained but they got rid of the climbing wall which i used to enjoy. The food is quite nice and can be a nice treat after a good work out

The David Lloyd Group have just taken over this former Next Generation gym and raquets club. They promise new investment in the gym equipment, but it’s too early to have made too much difference yet.
The club has two general levels of membership gym, and gym plus raquets. If you’re willing to pay more they can supply fresh towels for your visit, give you your own locker, and let you use their UK gym network.
The courts are a surprise in terms of surface: they have opted for carpet. However this plays quite well for tennis. There are six indoor tennis courts and 3 badminton courts, together with 3 squash courts.
The club benefits from three swimming pools: indoors there is a junior pool and a 25m pool, with a 10−15m pool outdoors.
One of the better clubs I’ve been to, but you certainly pay for it.
