Acorn Dental Practice is a Team of committed and positive people who strive to bring high standard dental care to York and its surrounds. We work with our patients to improve and maintain their general and dental health, putting THEIR needs first. We help them to make the most of their smiles, not compromising on the time we spend with them, the materials and techniques we use or the cross infection procedures we carry out.
History
Established in 1998.
The practice has been owned and run by dentist Maxine Flynn for 16 years and prides itself in giving patients the personal touch with its warm, welcoming and compassionate staff, who go out of their way to make patients feel comfortable and relaxed.
The dentists Maxine and Hannah, as well as hygienist Kim, pride themselves in building up personal relationships with the patients. Each patient sees the same dentist for treatment, which means we can make long term decisions about the care of your teeth instead of quick fixes. Each patient is treated in a gentle and caring manner, which gives them reassurance to attend the practice for regular check-ups helping patients to achieve and maintain a healthy mouth.

Maxine F.
Business Owner
Born in South Yorkshire, Maxine qualified from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne in 1986.
She worked as an associate in Newcastle for a year before buying practices in Pontefract and Hessle. After 11 years she had a year in New Zealand before returning to buy what is now Acorn Dental Practice. Her aim is to give patients high quality care without gimmicks. She feels patients are too often treated as mouths not people and she strives to ensure the patients at Acorn Dental do not feel that way. She loves all aspects of dentistry but especially enjoys treating anxious patients with neglected mouths and bringing them back to health. She loves seeing their confidence grow as they get their smile back.
Maxine is married with two daughters. Her interests are horse riding, diving, walking and historic places
