We’ve visited The Baburchi twice. On the first occasion we had one good main course(fish) and one indifferent. On the second visit there was no one to greet us, the starters took half an hour to arrive and the main courses were both disappointments. I couldn’t eat my Special which was floating in an oil slick. Even when the plate returned after having most of the oil drained away it made McDonald’s worst look like health food. My partner’s main course was at best middling. There won’t be a third visit.

Went on a Monday night, so it was very quiet. The décor was up-market, with high leather chairs, original paintings on the wall, and good linen and crockery, which makes a pleasant change from the faux-transport-caff ambience locally. Lovely starter of chana chat, then a vegetarian combo of vegetable masala and mushroom paneer, coriander nan, etc. The presentation was that good I wanted to take a photo(well, nearly), and my wife thought her Chicken/Mango concoction was nice too. And only £22 quid all in. Bring your own beers, as there a cheap grocers next door.
