The service in this store in every single department is consistently terrible. No one is ever at the click and collect till, one person seems to man the whole of beauty, the fitting rooms are supervised by people who have bitchy conversations about other staff members outside the doors. The presence of a crappy sports direct franchise on the top floor rounds it off.
At least it is consistent in its terribleness, and it gets two stars because its blue cross sales are worth braving.

Thought I reviewed here already but I guess not and it’s probably a good thing I haven’t! Over the year debenhams have restructured their departments, the top floor is no longer the children’s and household goods floor, they have now made this area sports direct.
There was a beauty Saloon on the ground floor which has now been replaced with shoes.
But ok that’s enough about my moaning of the layout changing as it’s all rally about the products and I’m happy to say there is still no change there. They sell a wide variety of clothes, underwear, shoes, handbags and perfume. And my favourite item which every year I buy is new travel wash bag, perfect size to carry all your toiletries and is a worth every penny! I’ve never seen these wash bags being sold anywhere else

I have a confession. I’m not really into retail therapy. In fact, too much retail therapy will probably lead to me needing therapy! So, department stores are a good hunting ground for me around times like Christmas when I need to find and buy lots of presents.
This Debenhams store is the anchor store for Centre Court Shopping Centre in Wimbledon. It isn’t the biggest department but has the full variety of different departments.
I had a successful shopping trip here today. The top floor had a lot of homeware and kitchen gadgets — fortunately, a lot of my friends are foodies and love to cook and entertain. The middle level is mainly ladies clothing but the ground floor yielded more success with menswear, fragrances & cosmetics and also a gift section with some fun things to give.
It is better to give than receive and Debenhams made that easier for me to achieve today

I used to use this store for the Yankee candles they stock on the third floor. Not a good selection and alot of them are old, discoloured stock, even the accessories that they have are ancient! The staff don’t seem to know anything about the product and shrug when you ask them about it!

This is a large department store spread over 3 floors. There’s also a restaurant that it quite reasonable if you just fancy stopping in for quick coffee or snack. The toilets next to the restaurant are in desperate need of being refurbished but they’re ok if you HAVE to use them. There’s also a cash point outside the restaurant.
The shop itself sells everything you would expect from a department store. The ground floor concessions include Warehouse, Top Shop, Faith Shoes, Principles, Dorothy Perkins, Wallis and of course, many more. There is also a large number of cosmetic companies including Estee Lauder, Chanel, Clarins and YSL. The lower area of the ground floor is menswear and luggage.
Homewares is on the first floor and the range is very good from Jamie Oliver to Le Cruset to Wedgewood. The second floor sells childrens clothes, bedding, beds and more furnishings.
There are many pay areas throughout the shop so I’ve never had much a queue. Debenhams often has sales and it’s well worth going if you don’t mind battling with crowds for bargains.

This is a very big Debenhams store that sells lots of different makes of clothes, makeup and homeware and gifts. I can usually find what I am looking for. The shop is on three floors and even though there are counters to pay at in each section I can still be waiting a long time to pay. They always try and get you to sign up for a store card. This shop gets very busy and especially at the times they have sales. There is a café in this store selling food at reasonable prices. Most of the staff are friendly.

Debenhams in Southampton is just like your typical Debenhams. Everything is laid out in an ordered fashion and quite easy to find.
The store however, is a little bit out of the way. It is located on a road parallel to the main high street and as no one really knows where it is, it is quite quiet and a pleasurable shopping experience

Debenhams in Southampton is located a bit off the beaten track down East Street. The street itself is a bit tatty and it seems like Debenhams is one of the few big chain stores that hasn’t relocated elsewhere within the city. The store is quite old and in places it could do with a refurbishment. All that aside, the store is quite large and has a good selection of both men’s and women’s clothing as well as home ware and the usual cosmetics and perfume counters. The store often has promotions on so you can pick up some bargains if you visit at the right time.

Huge department store in fairly central Southampton down by East Street, spread over several floors there is plenty of shopping to be done and lots of variety to choose from. The shop and layout could do with a modern refit as it is starting to age now.
Debenhams is fairly well priced on the high street and I do tend to find the homewares are competitive and they do move with the fashion, the mens clothing I do think is a bit more on the conservative side fashion wise, and mostly for the older generation, or the non-​internet generation.
Nice atmosphere and store generally!

Debenhams is a large department store in Southampton. It is quite a bit away from the other main shops such as West Quay. The store has 4 levels. The basement level has all the menswear, the ground level has all the womens clothing, 1^st floor has The Pier, all the china and glassware and kitchenware. The second floor has childrens clothes, bathroom equipment and bedding and also ELC toys. The store could do with a refurbishment, as looks old fashioned and dated inside. Very good store but it’s a shame it’s so far away from the other shops.

Debenhams is a nice department store just a stone throw away from the main city centre high street. The store contains many high street brands including Topshop, Faith and Warehouse. They also have many of the brands that you can only find in Debenhams such as J by Jasper Conran and Maine.
Upstairs there is homewear and a kids section and the bottom floor also has make-​up and purfume counters. Debenhams also has a lovely selection of dresses for every occasional and although not always cheap there is always a good selection.
The shop is laid out well and quite easy to navigate and staff are always nice.
The used to do nectar points if you spent in Debenhams but this promotion is no longer running.
Parking is not great with only road parking no actual dedicated car park.

Have to say that I find it a real pain to get to as it’s not directly near the high street. It’s not a far walk but if you have heels on then it’s down a hill and if it’s raining then don’t bother! Parking by the meter outside is expensive. You are better off parking in the Bargate. The shop does have everything in it but I can’t help feeling the building could do with an update! The lifts are quite scary if you have a buggy they look like they will stop working at any second! However it is a very good shop in terms of selection. Make sure you go to the very top as there is a lovely selection of Yankee Candles and another gorgeous home section which you might miss! Also it has a section of the Pier so quite a lot of choice under one roof!

Great department store. This has all the high street clothes shops you can think of and some more. I often find myself in here if I cant find what I want in town and I am never disappointed. I particularly like the café. Not the cheapest but it is really nice, good quality and very clean. You can eat while you look out onto the city gardens too — bonus!

I like this store but it is a pain with it not being on the High Street or in West Quay. It has been there for ages and is a large store which is set out very well. I think it is easy to walk around and browse and it always looks well stocked and clean and tidy. I think it could do with a complete make-​over though, the place does look shabby and could do with having a fresh lick of paint. The coffee shop is a nightmare, I think the staff need a kick up the bum. The staff around the store though are always friendly and helpful and they make you feel important.

One very large department stores which is similar sized to John Lewis in the Westquay shopping centre. There are 3 floors with a lot of different clothing ranging from kids clothes to adults clothes. There are also homeware too. Also there is a nice coffee shop which sells some nice decent refreshments or meals.

One of my favourite department stores in Southampton. Not far from above bar and well worth the walk. Has three floors, with great range of selection for clothes, homeware etc. Also has quite a nice café serving okish food
