Poppy Lane Placements

I used Poppylane Placements to find my current job. I found them extremely helpful from registration right the way through to being offered a permanent position. I went into their offices to register & be interviewed by the director — who was extremely professional and also very friendly. Once I had registered with them I received frequent calls/​emails from them to discuss positions/​interviews. Within weeks I was placed in a job — Elaine (the director) regularly kept in touch to check that everything was working out & I was happy in the role. I found her very supportive and personable. I would highly recommend this agency — they have some great roles — definitely worth exploring.

If there was an option to give zero stars, I would have chosen it. By far, the WORST nanny agency in London. They are kind and helpful before you actually come and register with them but after that the never send you any jobs or reply to your emails. I was on the job interview once where the parents told me they got CVs from different nanny agencies in London– they got mine through my local nanny agency. They told me they registered with poppy lane placements as well. I was surprised as I emailed poppy lane to put my CV for this particular job and they said they did but that was not the case…
Please, DO NOT waste your time to register with them as it is just not worth it. There are many other great nanny agencies that actually care about their nannies.
Overall, very very very poor customer service and extremely poor interpersonal skills.
I am more than sure that the positive reviews have been posted by the agency itself.

I applied for a job advertised with Poppylane and immediately received an email inviting me to interview. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. I was put forward for a job straight away by the director Elaine. She was and has continued to be very helpful. I was placed in a great job and Elaine even guided and supported me through the interview with the family.
I have had nothing but a positive experience with the agency and could not recommend them enough. Elaine and her staff are very helpful and work hard to ensure you are placed in the perfect position. Elaine has stayed in regular contact with me the whole time I have been in my job, she has ensured I am still happy and has provided support and advice when I have needed it.
Elaine and her team are very thorough with their selection process of both clients and candidates meaning you know the jobs she has advertised are for well known and trusted families.
I have every confidence in recommending the agency.

i went to poppy lane to regristar with them and i was interviewed by poppy what a lovely person she was and i was happy that i was able to go on their books i havent heard from them since but i am not ready to work as a nanny yet but i really felt very welcome and as i said poppy was really really nice

I didn’t have a particularly good experience with Poppy Lane Placements. I saw a job advertising and applied for it, I got an immediate response asking me to come in for an interview. I replied with some available times and did not hear back from them. I waited for a week and did not hear anything. I sent another email and then phoned them. Unfortunately, their number was being changed and I was directed to another number. When I rang I was told that I was forgotten about, but if i could come in for an interview next week. I then asked whether I should bring anything and the lady on the phone replied, ‘oh yeah’, and a list was given to me which i made a note of. I traveled to the offices, and when I turned up I was told that the assistant was away and if I could just fill in a form which could have easily been done online. I was then asked for a copy of my CRB check. I explained that I was not asked for one over the phone and I was told that there was not much more that could be done and if I could send it recorded delivery to them when I got home and they would cover the cost. I agreed. (I am also aware that CRB’s cannot be used between organisations, they are only valid for the company that has granted it). regardless of this, I immediately sent the CRB recorded delivery and again did not hear anything back from them. I eventually received the CRB back but with no reimbursement for the £6 delivery cost. No communication was made for a further three weeks and I emailed again regarding the initial job I had applied for. The customer service experience has been awful and I have now stopped communicating with Poppy Lane Placements as they have not kept to their word and sound clearly disorganized. I do not know how a business can continue to operate like this and survive. I have since signed up to another organisation, where I have been treated far more considerately, and have since been recruited in a job I am very happy in.
