An excellent tea with service that started fantastic but got a little lackluster towards the end. The sandwiches were savory and delicious and the tea was superb with the sweets ranging from really good to excellent. The scones were really good with the clotted cream being a great addition but I did find the jam a little on the sweet side. It was quite filling for one person and well worth the £29 cost in a beautiful setting. The only reason I’m giving this 4 instead of 5 stars was that while the service started out great, at the end I wound up sitting for about half an hour waiting for someone to come by so I could get my check. If they would have been as attentive at the end as in the beginning I would happily give this tea 5 stars.

Tea service at the St Ermin was included in our walking tour of Buckingham Castle. Let me start by saying that lobby of the hotel sets the perfect first impression when setting down for tea. It’s casually over the top and climbing the staircase to the tea library get you in mood for a relaxed afternoon. Jorge was our server and excellent throughout the course of the afternoon even though he was taking care of 25 hungry tourists. I had the Chai and was extremely satisfied with a well prepared pot of tea. The sandwiches were outstanding although the bread was a little dryer than I would have liked and the sweets were simply amazing. The handmade marshmallows and the macaron fruit tart were simply ro die for and for once I found a tea rooms with sweeter than average clotted cream, I was in heaven.

We came here for the afternoon tea. The sandwiches and sweets had a great balance between classic and creative and were all quite well made. The scones were definitely the highlight for me, though. The service was helpful and the atmosphere was nice. The price(£29/person) was much more reasonable than other hotels in the area. I would definitely recommend this afternoon tea to my friends!
