This is really just another take away joint. I wasn’t overly inspired by the food on offer, nor did the food really tickle my tastebuds! The curry was really creamy which I normally love but this time it just tasted milky an lacked any real flavouring. I think if you’ve had a few drinks and you’re in need of a cheap feed then this would be the perfect stop off point. The staff didn’t really acknowledge us so I’d have to say they weren’t that friendly.

The food is ok here, it’s not amazing but it is cheap and home made. The real reason for visiting the Desi Junction is all about the décor. As you sit in this amazing old Victorian building, ready to eat your cheap buffet style curry, you can’t help but love the large paintings on the wall. The paintings have a certain retro feel to them but imagine a range of Asian women, often standing in water or by rocks, full portrait style but with strategically draped fabric hanging off their breasts. That’s what you can expect to see. They are amazing. Forget the service and average food but for the cheapness it’s all good. The décor is where it’s at, it’s an experience that will leave you wondering where they got those amazing paintings from.

A recent visit here and the food was no way near as good as it used to be. It looks like they have changed the chef! It drops a star for that however they have started serving Indian breakfasts now daily which is parotas and yogurt, will re review once I’ve tried.
