St John The Evangelist C Of E Church

This church is the most picturesque church in warrington. In the evenings, when its dark, if you’re travelling into town along the A56 dual carriageway you’ll see it all lit up with floodlights. Its absolutely beautiful. Its not as big inside as you’d imagine but the congregation here do an awful lot for the community. There’s a small church hall opposite which gets a lot of use by mums and tots groups and brownies/​guides etc too. The lychgate is perfect for wedding photos and there’s also an entrance through a side gate and along a field, which brings you out opposite the canal. Its a very peaceful spot and worth a visit, the vicar, John, is a charming guy and really friendly.
