A Ward & Sons

This is one of those rare shops — a traditional butchers shop! Its family run and the guys in there are full of advice of the best cuts of meat or ideas of how to cook it. They butcher on the premises so you know its fresh meat and they sell some other farm type products in there too (jams & chutneys and the like). They’re not the cheapest place (supermarkets are cheaper) but they always know and have the information for you about the welfare of the animals/​free range/​organic etc so that kind of service comes at a premium naturally. I visit them fairly often and have NEVER been let down by them. I would say that the smell is often hideous but that’s only becuase its a butchers shop and nothing untoward!
