Stopped by for dinner and was very impressed with quality of food and size of portions and value. Very good service, really friendly and polite. Nice sheltered patio area. Would go back and recommend to friends!

Good helpings of well prepared food. Family friendly with a good choice of dishes. Well kept cask beers and good choice of wines. Very busy on Sunday lunchtimes for the carvery so book in advance.

We’ve been here a few times and were very impressed — good food, polite staff etc etc until… we ordered a dessert and the cream was off — duly sent it back — had to wait ages and when we asked the mangeress what was happening she was very rude. After that she seemed to have it in for us and took any opportunity to be rude and unhelpful. We have boycotted it since then. Shame because otherwise it was a very good all round family pub

An independent ‘local’ recently renovated and revived. This place does great food, serves an excellent selection of beers and is probably the best boozer in Mere (Wiltshire) by far.
There is a good menu which varies on a daily basis. On Sunday’s there’s an option to partake in the ‘Carvery’, a feast of fleshly delights with all the trimmings. I mean of course, roast beef, pork and lamb. The quality is superb and the attention to detail is faultless.
Clean loos, a kids playground, outside seating, regular events, excellent disabled access and really lovely staff make this a charming place. Do drop by if you’re in the area.
