A lesson in how not to do online ordering… we’d pre-​ordered a sizeable spread of afternoon tea items online for one of my sister’s pre-​wedding events that we were hosting at home. We planned and ordered well in advance of the day, but as the sandwiches etc are made fresh, we had to collect it all from the store in the morning. Unfortunately they failed us on the one thing we were counting on — having all the items in stock. Despite going to the effort of giving them 3 weeks’ notice for this very reason, we received a call in the morning saying they didn’t have any fruit tarts, of which we’d ordered 2 large boxes.
M&S, you’re something of an institution, but please don’t offer the online option if you don’t have the most basic of stock management tools to fulfil it. The current system — which appears to be that someone goes round the shelves on your event day with your pre-​order as their shopping list to see how much of it they have in stock — just isn’t good enough.
The staff were obviously apologetic when I went in, and allowed me to swap in some fresh fruit in place of the tarts, so all was well at home in the end. They were also very helpful in guiding me to the gluten-​free section for one of my aunts, which is pleasingly extensive in terms of snacks though annoyingly GF sandwiches are only available in their café upstairs (cue sending my little sis off on a mission).
Just consider yourself warned that advance notice doesn’t guarantee availability, and if you’re still disappointed then head to the fresh bakery section — it’s a great distraction, mmm scone heaven!

Lovely large branch of marks and spencers located in walsall town centre. They have a lovely selection of clothing available for you to purhcase. I find the staff extremely helpful and always aorund and willing to help. The changing rooms are large and bright so easier to try things on. They have a nice large café located upstairs to grab something quick to eat or drink. Clean store and the shelves and rails are always well stocked.

This store stocks mainly clothes (mens and womenswear) and food. They also have a small selection of accessories, shoes, cards and home items.
It’s located in the pedestrian area of town, although they do have a service where you can drive your car round to their back entrance to collect your purchases
