Mussels are good. However they are of different quality! It’s weird! We have ordered 2 dishes but the sauces are different. May be the chef forgot to put some ingredients in one pot?!? Staff are not very helpful and not of good service. We asked for several small plates, they responded but didn’t pass to us. At last, we asked the 3rd waiter for the plates.

if you are looking for a seafod restuarant and you want eat some seafood. then this is a seafood resturant and will satisfy your seafood needs. its very nice. the mussels were delicious. so fresh and tasty and the bream was tender yet firm and fellt apart in your mouth, not on your plate. the lemon sole was nice in flavour but the texture was sloppy and was a small sized fish. all in all. this was a seafood restaurant that i attended one night and ate seafood which was the reason i went there in the first place. will go back, maybe to a different one as like to mix it up a bit and dont tend to frequent the same places more than once. its just a thing i have. one of my little quirks. UPDATE: i find myself in a bit of a tizz as today i lost my turtle and my lsebian lover embroiled her pants

We visited this branch for lunch prior to going to a rugby match at Twickenham. Yes it’s a chain but a very decent one. The staff were very friendly and in addition to the regular menu there were a few specials. The food was excellent and the service intelligent and attentive. The wine list was also good, and decent value. Based on the advice of the staff we walked to the ground(a bit of a hike at 25 minutes), and our waiter offered that we could leave the car parked there at the restaurant. We popped in for a drink on the way back– an impeccable service all round.

Anyone who knows the Lockfyne chain will know that the best place to eat is actually in the place it was named after, Lock Fyne in Scotland, however, we can’t always be were we want to be! This restaurant is in my reckoning a close 2nd, without the ambience of looking across the loch. The restaurant isn’t huge like the one in Portsmouth, but still provides enough atmosphere to give it that buzz and be intimate at the same time. The menu’s are as all Lochfynes, but chef will put on his specials of the day. I love oysters, but found that the shells had been opened badly leaving tiny fragments left made them a bit gritty, but still enjoyable. The décor is that of simple sanded boards with white washed walls with pictures which is easy on the eye. The service was friendly and efficient, even though they were at full capacity, which was nice. As with all good restaurants in this area, it is advisable to book.

Loch Fyne is a chain, however, it is a good example of how to run a chain reasonably well. Let’s hope you like fish, as that is pretty much what you’ll get here. They sustainably fish for well fish and shell fish(oystersyum). They have a selection of hot and cold dishes, including fish specials of the day and the rather enormous shellfish sharing platters. Oysters on the halfshell can also be had(and in my case, often are). This isn’t a cheap restaurant(though nor is it horrendously expensive), however, they often have special offers. During the summer they had the ‘dine with wine’ promotion, where you got two courses from a set menu and a glass of wine for £11 on Mondays — Thursdays before 7.00pm. These are excellent value, and although the set menu has limited choice(3 or 4 starters and ditto mains), they are nice dishes, generally. Moving away from the fish, I recommend you avoid the cooked vegetables and stick to salad sides — I found the veg sides disappointing. I have also found the desserts less than special. They also serve non-fish mains including game; I’ve not tried these. The Twickenham branch is light and airy, but is all hard surfaces, and so can be noisy. There is an outside patio for summer dining, but it’s right off the car park, so I do fail to see the attraction of al fresco eating there. All in all, as long as seafood is your thing, you could do worse than Loch Fyne, though, to be fair, you could also do better.

This is the head office based restaurant, so service is usually very good, from friendly staff. It’s a very reliable chain of fish restaurants, but I think this is their best. Not very big, usually space at lunchtime, but why not ring ahead?
