Great place since 1987. It’s a pub. Bin in the CAMRA guide quite a few years apparently. It’s a very friendly towards women pub. In the afternoon you can have a glass of wine, espresso, real ale, Erdinger or a local apple juice. Sit at a table, read the paper, look out at the street and not get hassled by anyone. It gets very busy mid evening and changes to a dutch«brown bar» atmosphere — just love it If only they had Illy coffee… Hugh Ray Henry Ashprington

I love Rumour’s pizza, it really is great and the choice of toppings is excellent. I also love their chips with mayonaise, really tasty. If you don’t like pizza don’t worry as their is always lots to choose from the blackboard menu. It is a bistro in the middle of Totnes. If you are going at a busy time it is worth booking a table as they do get very busy. The staff are always friendly. A nice place for a treat.

Rumours is great place to visit both at night and during the day with each giving you a different atmosphere. The blackboard menu is changed daily giving you a varied selection of dishes often made from local produce. The pizzas are wonderful and you can choose from a large selction of toppings to create your own pizza. The potato wedges are a must have a come with a choice of dips. The service is great and the staff are helpful a polite.

Rumour is a cosy little bar, bistro and restaurant in the heart of the former hippie town Totnes, which remains one of the centres of the alternative movement. The blackboard menu changes daily, and, as should be the case in Totnes, there are always vegetarian options available. Their pizzas are also very good, and there is an extensive selection of toppings available on the separate pizza menu. The particular focus of Rumour is on local organic produce such as meats, veg, beer and cider, which is good for the local economy. The atmosphere is quite laid-back and therefore welcoming, and the service is friendly and quick. Prices could be lower but the quality of food is very high. Overall, a definite must if you find yourself in Totnes!
