I just was at PC World some weeks ago to buy a new laptop and experienced a lot of problems with them.
Sadly I had to wait a long time for someone to help me. Strange, because there were like 5 people in the store and also like 5 people from the staff What took em so long? Ill be with you in a minute 5 minutes later your asking them again and they tell you they just have to check something and ‘ll be with you in a minute.well.
As I finally got someone to help me it was kinda wierd too.
I mean I kinda know what I’m talking about when it goes to computing and laptops. So I had detailled questions about the inside of the machines. They tried, but couldn’t really help me. I told them I want an Intel machine, and all they showed me where laptops with AMD processors. I mean okay they had speciall offers on them (which were quite good), but still if I want an Intel (and tell em so) why do they show me AMD?
I really didn’t get the help to choose a laptop there so thats why I bought it elsewhere.
In conclusion: They have some good prices, but the service is, in my opinion, not good. If you’re looking for service (especially perhaps if your not a pro with computing) then this place is definitely not what you want to go for. Better look for a smaller shop with people who know what they’re talking about, even if perhaps you’ll have to pay little more then.
If you know exactly what you want and can get it on your own, then you will find some good offers there.

There are certain things I will go to PC World for, such as mice, printers, keyboards etc. On the other hand, the games can be bought cheaper in supermarkets or game shops and most crucially the computers, components and repairs are a complete rip-​off. If you’re after these, go to a smaller business who provide better quality for less money. I was horrified to find that the low-​spec version of a component I wanted was more than twice the price, in PC World, of the top-​end product on Ebuyer and at CSSG.
Just because they’re a big chain, doesn’t make them any good at anything other than marketing.
