Most local high schools lead a double life these days, this one is no different. Its specialism is in the performing arts and has a strong reputation in the area within the fields of drama, dance and music. It comes as no surprise then that the theatre and purpode built dance studio are used by several local dance groups for rehearsal and performances. Besides this the centre has a swimming pool, gym and sports hall that are open to public use(for a fee). My son attends Kung Fu lessons here on a monday night, but there are other groups that use the sports hall for Karate, kick boxing, salsa and many other sports related sessions. The sports hall can also be hired for childrens parties and costs only £65, for which they have two staff to supervise and use of the following equipment; a bouncy castle, trampoline, football area, badmington courts and mini assault course. The kids love to run around for an hour on this and it makes a fun, cheap option if you want to invite a large number — you can easily have up to 50. You will have to take your own buffet food — but get use of a room to lay out with plenty of seating. The Complex also has a public use library and plays host to several free courses such as coputer literacy for beginners, adult literacy courses and craft/arts related courses. An impressive community resource and well run.
