It really is a throw back in time, but we love it for all that. The locals are very friendly and they always make everyone welcome. The real ale is brewed in their own microbrewery, which is actually located at the Joiners Arms in Bishopston

I think this Pub, which seems like a throwback in time, is a bit of an acquired taste all round. Its set down just off the old Railway track in Upper Killay, which is now a Cycle /Walking path, and I’m sure they get a lot of trade from that, and it also seems to have a lot of regulars too. We found it quite intimidating in there on our visit, but that may have just been us. I think it might be worth a return visit though.

Beautiful! In a basic boozer sort of way … no jukebox, limited TV, fabulous real ales(incl regular, varied guests), cellar trap door precariously in middle of tiny serving area, low-tech rail ephemera and chipper regulars. A monthly weekend treat for me and the boys …
