Good sized carpark and the food is delicious. Bit cramped for pushchairs. The homemade cakes are gorgeous and you can buy them to take home. Only thing a slice of cake is quite pricey. Lovely atmoshere and staff very friendly.

Set in an old building that has changed hands many times from pub, to club, to pub again and now a weird but fab coffee shop. It is light and airy with lots of space to sit and have a really big coffee and an even bigger slice of cake. I’ve eaten their chocolate cake in the past and it was deliciously chocolatey and covered in little chocolate stars, yummy. Even though I can’t eat their super big, yummy cakes anymore it doesn’t matter as they have an amazing chocolate counter. Who needs Hotel Chocolate when you can get amazingly different and gorgeous looking treats whilst you sit and relax with friends and a coffee? Not me. The staff were really professionally dressed in their smart uniforms as well as being really friendly. Having been here a few times now what I would say is that half of it has merged into a store. This is where the weird comes in and actually it provides an extra level of conversation as you check out the expensive garden furniture and ornaments as well as random over priced tat. Putting the weird actor aside it is great having somewhere nice to stop along the Chester Road, and it has a good sized car park to boot as well.

The Garden Room is STRANGE! There’s a café to one side, and a gift shop to the other side — which seems to be cropping up all over Birmingham as a combination, but in this place they feel like two totally separate businesses shoe-horned under one roof. The café serves really delicious drinks and home made cakes — YUM! The gift shop is a bit less to my taste — with a range of china and glassware alongside the usual cards and other small gift items like soft toys and trinkets. Because of it’s location, it’s been a really useful place to meet business associates for a drink and an informal meeting place instead of using a pub. Much more suited to the types of people I work with, and with a massive carpark. Great little spot!

Hastely established coffee shop with no character. Wasted opportunity, just for a quick buck! Staff have no customer service skills or for that matter manners(R they here to pay — pointing at us, lol!) lack of selection, allthough the food was of a good standard. Décor is gordy, remenicent of the night club feel of the old Place 2 b. When we asked for service the lady behind the counter who was obviously not busy told us to come to the desk, a few feet away! Try the Costa down the road atleast u get served, we stood there for a few minutes and had to beckon a lady for assistance!
