Capacious Youngs pub, boasting a partly covered beer garden outside, and ample seating inside with open(flame-effect gas) fires and some comfy seating. Faux-olde England décor, but not hugely out of place, given the reasonable age of the premises. A well kept, fairly predictable selection of beers on draft, and an extensive menu of straigtforward pub food(the burgers are good). Friendly locals who, dare I say, add to the atmosphere — a comfortable and sedate boozer.

A well run traditional pub service good Youngs beer. Very much a traditional pub without music or sky television except in the public bar on some occasions. the staff are polite and efficient and there is plenty of seating. good Thai food served, We have been frequenting this hostelry when we are in area for over 20 years so that speak for itself. Highly recommended.

Nice pub, good food, big screen for sports, beer garden & free WiFi — ask at bar for key — drinks are a bit pricey but nice surroundings and atmosphere.

Although the portion sizes are not huge, they are generally of a very high quality and represent value for money. The ambiance is also good, with some outdoor seating available(although not much sun, from what I’ve seen so far.) Unusually for Kingston, they serve brunch right through until 3pm, and have a pretty good brunch selection!

Great pub operating under new management re-launched in late June 2008, much needed re-furbishment undertaken. Built in 1812, the Waggon & Horses is a very traditional, deceptively large pub located on the main road between Kingston in one direction and Surbiton in the other. In the 19th century this old coaching house kept an extra horse to help with the climb up Surbiton Hill. Limited range of wines and soft drinks, regular popular beers. Very nice home cooked foods served Monday — Saturday 12noon — 10pm and Sunday 12noon — 9pm. A traditional Sunday lunch is served — choice of usually 3 meats served with all freshly prepared vegetables and all the trimmings. £9.95– very good value and well prepared meals. Beer graden available. quiz night on a Thursday. Pub is in residential area– children are welcome in designate areas, generally quiet and have seen some University students in there so they must like the sedate atmosphere.
