To be fair I’m not a fan. It’s big and cheap and quite nasty! Carpet smells of stake booze. Still… Its a pub and sells beer so I’ll go back!

Definitely credit-crunch-tastic. Curry night(Thursdays) is excellent value. I stick to vegetarian curry as I’m not a fan of cheap(and who knows how it’s farmed) meat. Agree with the comment about slow(drinks) service at the bar. Upstairs is much quieter than the(ahem) lively bear pit atmosphere that reigns on the ground floor

Not a great addition to the Wetherspoons/Lloyds bar chain — The Reginald Mitchell is run down and looking a bit past it. Nevertheless you’ll still get highly affordable drinks and booze but you’ll find yourself rushing both to move on to somewhere less dingy. There’s plenty of seating either on the ground or upper floor so finding somewhere to chill isn’t hard but at times I have found myself getting stared at by the regulars who seem to live there which is slightly unnerving. Bar service needs improving, especially on the cocktail side. Last time I went here I asked for a Mojito and has served a cross between a Mojito and a Cosmopolitan — it tasted like horrid mouthwash. Much better places to go for a cheap meal and drink.

Definitely the biggest Wetherspoons I’ve ever been in! It’s basically the old Tontine Shopping Centre, a massive two floor space with a Titanic like grand staircase in the centre with large shuttered glass ceiling, it’s actually pretty impressive. Downstairs seems to be dominated by pensioners and dole dossers spending their giro’s! Upstairs is generally nicer though. The drinks are cheap, the food is cheap, it offers all you would expect from a good Wetherspoons, as long as you’re not expecting the world you should be happy. Slightly understaffed is my main criticism, expect a bit of a wait at the bar.
