Gamestation in Stockport is ok, the staff are very knowledgeable and friendly and the store itself although small is packed full of games. My main criticism is that GameStation used to be much better a few years ago with prices usually undercutting GAME, and lots of retro games aswell as decent trade in prices. But in an anti-competitive act GameStation was bought out by GAME a while ago and is now practially a GAME clone and has lost most of its identity. The retro games have slowly dissappeared, and trade in prices are now exactly the same as GAME, and so too are the prices for new games(Although occasionally GAME/GameStation will make their prices £1.00 cheaper/more in the other store so customers ‘think’ they are getting a better deal when in fact theyre not) Almost all the games can be bought cheaper at supermarkets or online, but GameStation is still recommended for parents who dont know what to buy as the staff are very helpful in this area, so it is probably worth paying the extra if you dont know what you need or whats best.
